Lote Tuqiri shoves his teamate!

With time up and the scores tied 16-16, the Waratahs got themselves a penalty on the half way line. Go for posts would have been the obvious choice, and it probably was according to kicker Peter Hewat.

Sam Norton-Knight spotted a bit of space and took the risk of a quick tap and dart down the wing, only to be tackled and lose possession, and with it, the game.

As you'll see here Tuqiri took exception to his decision, and wasn't afraid to show it.

  • Tuqiri is one of the best players to go from League to Union.

Union players are not considered as skilled as League players when it comes to tackling, and in fact in some cases down-right skill.

League is a game which requires skill and tackling as you only get 5 allowed tackles before a change over. Union players quite frankly get schooled by League players who go over to Union.

The main draw factor for League players to go to Union however is that Union is a worldwide sport, with greater money to be found in Union than League.

I don't blame Lote for going to Union. I would of done the same thing.

As a Union Player for a team and a League supporter myself, Tuqiri is a fantastic player to be brought into the game.

Now fuck off with the hateful comments because you are the fat bastards who sit here writing hateful comments. This is because you were the fat kids getting paid out at school; while Lote was training his arse off, becoming the best he can be.

Rugby is an emotional sport on many levels. Everyone get's angry time to time. And I have to agree. Running it wasn't a good idea.

  • I know that if a teammate of mine did that in this ocasion, I would be really pissed.. Sometimes you cant control your attitude, I'm not trying to protect Lote Tuqiri, I just think that Knight did it terrible.

  • i love lote but that was uncalled for, especially on national television. on a differnt note, timmah, you're a retard if you're gonna say league players are more skilled than union players hahahaha. i'd love to see big lockyer run at stephen larkham brother.

  • "Union players quite frankly get schooled by League players who go over to Union." that said look at Andrew Farrell supposed to be the next big thing to transfer, turns out to be all talk no walk.

  • Farrell didnt do any talking, after 13 seasons of professional rugby league, time has simply caught up. he is still a great footballer but unfortunately he is past his best. You try switching to rugby league after 13 seasons of rugby union and see how well you do.

As for the Lote debate I'm 100% behind him rugby is a TEAM sport everything you do should be for the good of the team, I too cannot stand it when some tosser has a rush of blood to the head and sniffs glory, those players really piss me off. I dont mind people snapping and having a good fight, it is a contact sport after all... but glory seeking tosspots really do my head in. As for saying he shouldn't do it on T.V, have a word with yourself.

  • I dont blame tuqiri at all.

  • Looking at the comments left above, it's quite clear that many of you haven't the attitude to play a TEAM game at the highest level. Yes Norton-Knight did mess up and cost them the game. Having said that the day when you turn against your teammates in public as Lote did, is the day when you go too far, hence the 'Tahs finishing the season where they did.

  • the most over rated player currently operating in world rugby. he thinks he is bigger than the game itself.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at August 21, 2007 9:27 pm

  • if i was to push one of my team mates, id be dropped from the squd. any player who pushes or taints another team mate because of his performance does not deserve to play. tuqiri needs to grow up and lose the rattle. or go and play soccer.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at August 30, 2007 3:40 pm

  • I think that Tuqiri was wrong, but Sam Norton-Knight was an absolute JERK for doing what he did! People are going off at Tuqiri for the actions he took, but seriously, did Sam consider what was best for the team? Had it paid off, yeah Sam would have been a hero but still, when points are on offer and the scores are tied at fulltime, what reasonable person doesn't take the points?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at September 06, 2007 8:44 am

  • emotions are all well and good but he should exercise some restraint and respect for his team mates, even if they have ballsed something up. if everyone went on like that rugby would lose it's team spirit which is a big part of the game. So...as good as he is....he is still a cock.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at September 24, 2007 5:52 pm

  • Thats terrible, no-one should ever disrespect a team mate like that in public... it just reflects badly on himself and the rest of the team.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at October 15, 2007 6:07 am

  • whoever sed he was overated iz duller than a supermodel who quit school early he's one of the finest players in the game

By Anonymous Anonymous, at October 21, 2007 10:21 pm

  • itss because sam norton-knight sux, they could of won but the dum ass though he was good and took it himself

By Anonymous Anonymous, at October 26, 2007 12:35 pm

  • i think that all this inter code stuff between union and league needs to go back to the roots... schoolboy rugby. wally lewis, possible the greatest league player there was started his career with Australian schoolboys RUGBY. who is schooled by who? and there are others. with massive infamous school grooming great footballers it is not a shock that many big league players started with union.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at November 12, 2007 5:37 pm

  • More skill in League? No. Just different skills; League players can't scrummage for shit, but they are better at unlocking organised defenses (in my opinion).

One thing they are definitely not more skilled at is tackling - you can just charge in with the shoulder and use no technique at all.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at December 24, 2007 4:44 pm

  • whilst tuqiri is a good player in this piont he is abit of a bastard, everyone screws up sometimes and if he has never once screwed up in his whole career then this MIGHT be justified , until that time he should keep his his hands to himself or go back to league were there heads don't fit there body's

  • where has this video gone? i would very much like to see it!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at May 05, 2008 5:08 pm

  • league players are a bunch of steroid and viagra junkies who reckon their hard by executing a tackle with no arms.

leage has no structure or mindset where as union does
