Hard hitting action from Narbonne against Toulon
This little piece of action comes to us from our good friends over in France, and more specifically, down at Toulon.
Toulon has been featured on RD before, mainly for it being in the headlines with big name acquisitions such as George Gregan, Andrew Mehrtens, Victor Matfield, and then more recently, talk of Dan Carter going there.
The French Second Division, or Pro D2 is known for it's ferocity as we've highlighted in the past, and in this short clip you get a good feeling for it.
The massive hit near the beginning comes in from Narbonne's Sebastien Geni on Toulon's center Davyd Douy. Duoy is smashed to the floor, and as you can see, looks to be in bad shape for quite some time.
Later in the clip we see Andrew Mehrtens getting into a scuffle after a late hit on him, and then there's even time for a nice try in the end.
Plenty of action whenever Toulon play it seems, and we'll more than likely be seeing them in the Top 14 next season, mixing it up with the big boys.

Anybody else think its about time for a new "try savers and rib breakers"? This clip could definitely find its way into it.

For the history, put in theToulon - Begles 1991. Gives a good feel of the french ruby. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSSqYLGpjZA

"how are they getting the big signings even if Gregan and others are getting on a bit?"
They have got a Multi-millionaire backing the club. A guy called Mourad Boudjellal.
He's a self made millionaire owns one of Frances largest comic book publishers called Soleil Editions.
It's had a huge effect on the town, and the local economy.
They've got Vitctor Matfield, George Gregan, andrew Merhtens, Dan Luger, Anton Oliver, Lawrence Sephaka, Saime Taumopeau plus others in the playing squad.
Umaga who played last year is now the coach.
So you can see there is some serious money in the club.

(sorry for poor English) The speaker says Narbonne should be penalized because the tackler does not hold the players in his arm after the hit. But it is no spear tackle. I just see a big hit.
The pro-D2 championship is not as technical as the Top14, but it surely has the same fighting intensity : the players like to play it rough (especially against Toulon : )

This 2nd league team is unbelievable:
first action, Oliver to Mattfield, to Gregan....

to me it looked like the guy that tackled david douy actually tried to wrap him up. Im sure david douy didnt need those ribs anyway......i suppose there is always a bright side, he can probably give himself a blowjob now!

The hit on the center is a cruncher!
The hit on Merthens was bad, though, and the player should have been carded.
I couldn't see it properly, but did he shoulder-charge Mehrtens?

To yousef1490: they occupy the 1st place of the champ since months but there is now the Racing-metro team (suburbs of paris) that is catching up with them. However they'll very probably win the championship and will play in the top 14 next year.

There is quite a lot of money coming into Racing Metro now as well.
Especially with PSG doing so badly in the Football/Soccer, there seems to be a drive to have two major clubs in paris. SDF & Racing.
does anyone know where i cna buy tickets for the Top 14 final?
