Top 14 Tries of the Season Compilation
Another French Top 14 season has come to a close as Perpignan captured the coveted Brennus Shield by beating Clermont in Paris on the weekend.
The championship produced some excellent rugby this season, as we saw big players from around the world converge on France, joining up with their new clubs and having a crack at being the top side in the country.
In some cases just avoiding relegation was the goal, as was seen with Tana Umaga’s side Toulon, who themselves scored some great tries this season.
This next season is already shaping up to be another intriguing one, as the big spenders have pulled in more big names. Jonny Wilkinson, Sebastien Chabal, Francois Steyn, and a whole host of players will be joining clubs across the country.
Some great tries were scored this season, as were covered randomly here on RD, but now that it's all over, we have this excellent tries compilation for you that makes one appreciate just how enjoyable the Top 14 can be.
Its pretty long for a compilation, but thoroughly enjoyable as we see the best the season had to offer in nine minutes of classic rugby action. Enjoy.

Jesus that dropkick at 1:50 is unbelievable ! I love Montauban :D
Pretty awesome running too all along the video. Nice job again Guetteba, you're the best !

these highlights epitomise all that is good about french top 14 rugby, we often hear about the ugly violent side, but this is a great video to appreciate the great attacking french flair and skill. Especially love Trinh-Duc's flick to Ouedrago for his try.

Awesome video. Music made me want to rip my ears apart though
By gijo, at June 11, 2009 12:22 am
this video clip is such an embarrasement, the top try scorer in the tournament napolioni nalaga is given any credit for his tries in any part of your clips. what a waste of time, i can't believe you guys missed one of the most influential players to date in your clips!!!!
By Anonymous, at June 11, 2009 12:25 am
where is going chabal and steyn?

One guy spent a lot of time making this vid you fucktard. I'm sorry Clermont ate its own poop once again this year in the final but just stop complaining and if you're not happy with this one, make your own video.
He made a video of the most beautiful tries. The fact that Nalaga scored alot has nothing to do with his tries being beautiful or not.
Allez les jaunards arrêtez de chialer maintenant!

yeah would have loved one or two Nalaga tries in there but saying the video is an embarrassment is uncalled for
guetteba put a lot of work into making this video...and did a great job

Great video, really impressive. Personally I would have liked a bit more variety concerning the music and a few commentary bits but this video is still one of the best rugby compilations I've ever seen.

As usual,
excellent video compilation from guetteba. Thks man! Great actions and many team tries. Ouedraogo's try is surely the best one.
But the "new-age-medieval" soundtrack is a bit annoying.. lol
By Flooz, at June 11, 2009 10:45 am
Brilliant vid. Some great rugby played, makes you realise what the French lost when Laporte took the reigns.
By Hackney Griffin, at June 11, 2009 11:04 am

"wich team is BOU ¿¿¿"
It's Bourgoin, the finalist of European Challenge.
"and by the way, isnt nicolas vergallo between 4:56 - 5:00 ¿¿¿"
That's him, n°9 of Dax.

By the way great video :D

I remember Stimpson landing a 55m penalty that hit the post then the crossbar and over. That dropgoal brought it all back! =D
By MadMax, at June 11, 2009 1:16 pm
The Perpignan score against Stade, from the backline move was phenomenal - the movement and running lines were fantastic.
Great vid.

Steyn and Chabal are going to Racing-Métro 92, the second club in Paris..
Thanks for making it Guetteba!

Still a shit league, not a pip on Super 14.
Amazing video though well made and put together perfectly considering what you had to go from. super 14 compilation from guetteba would be outstanding.
DETEST the league but i would love to see L.Beauxiss or m.Medard ina crusaders shirt one day.
By AllBlackJack, at June 11, 2009 5:06 pm
Thanks anonymous
By Flanker, at June 11, 2009 6:34 pm
AllBlackJack - what do you detest about this league exactly? Do you watch a lot of Top 14 or just the compilations on this site?
By Kev, at June 11, 2009 6:53 pm
What is the song called?
By Lucas, at June 11, 2009 8:40 pm
Whats the music? grat compilation. Come on the Black's sat morning, revenge for cardiff!
By Anonymous, at June 11, 2009 10:36 pm
Great video, but your music taste is f*** aweful, the music is ok for the beginning, but after the third restart it is going on my nerves. Pls change the music
By Jochen, at June 11, 2009 11:19 pm
really really really good vid.. but pleeease tell me whats the name of the song.. i loved it..
cheers
By Anonymous, at June 11, 2009 11:57 pm
This is simply awesome! J'adore les Top 14!
By Swissrugby, at June 12, 2009 2:23 pm
To Kev,
I watch a lot of Top14 because of the influx of SH players there, but im more impressed with the homegrown talent. I just think that the SH players are not suited to the league and i cant seem to get any atmosphere watching th games
To Tehsniper
Im entitled to my own opinion you thick c**t, what business is it of yours to say im a disgrace to all kiwis you maladjusted turd
Great video again,RD coming up with some crackers recently
The only NH League i like is the Magners.
By AllBlackJack, at June 12, 2009 4:45 pm
BEST SIDE IN NH!!! NOTHING COMPARES TO TOP 14!!!
By Anonymous, at June 12, 2009 7:11 pm
@ AllBlackJack
Just cause the frogs beat the crap out of you in the WC doesn't entitle you to despise their league.
It might not have been the best this year in the NH but it is still awesome. The atmosphere in those games is something you will never experience in your third world country stadiums filled with 1000 fans tops.
You have obviously never watched any top 14 game but you are anti-french like alot of kiwis.
I lived in Christchurch for two years so don't tell me I don't know any kiwi.
By Marco, at June 13, 2009 12:16 am
AllBlackJack, Trinh-Duc and our front rowers salute you ;)
Well the game isn't yet, but come on the All Blacks were quite ridiculous at the beginning !
Talking about atmosphere, I doubt you ever watched a game taking place in Bayonne, their homecrowd is just amazing. When I watch S14, very often the stands are half empty (or half full depending on your philosophy :) ), at least in Top 14 the stadium is always >90% full
By Anonymous, at June 13, 2009 10:07 am
Where are the All Blacks now ? :D Top14 Rules
By Merja, at June 13, 2009 11:15 am
Viva La France!
By NZ 22 France 27, at June 13, 2009 11:18 am
They should rename Super 14 to Bottom 14 in respect for Top 14.
France won playing positive rugby too, great to watch, especially the terrible tackling on the 2nd French try.
By Anonymous, at June 13, 2009 11:21 am
"They should rename Super 14 to Bottom 14 in respect for Top 14."
LOL, totally agreed
By ToulouseFan, at June 13, 2009 1:34 pm
Hey AllBlackJack where's all the boasting now?
Busy figuring out how players from the worst league in the world beat players from the best one?
By tehsniper, at June 13, 2009 1:59 pm
Im not Anti-French as i like the homegrown players more, I dont like the rugby not just a disliking because of nationality. Tehsniper 2 words for you...World Rankings...enough said.
who are the top 3 teams in the world??? what nations are involved in the Super 14??
Marco - I've never claimed better atmoshpere or crowds in the Super14 you freak, so where did you get that basis, i DONT LIKE THE SHIT RUGBY IN TOP14!
By AllBlackJack, at June 13, 2009 6:42 pm
"i DONT LIKE THE SHIT RUGBY IN TOP14!" Well dude, be aware that some people don't really like the creepy rugby in the so-called super 14 - only physical and no creativity - and enjoy rugby in Top 14.
World rankings. So true it is, I think today we had a good view of the world rankings at Dunedin.

Has nalaga ever played for fiji?
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2009 11:49 am
To the anonymous above
No, Nalaga hasn't played for Fiji yet, he played with the Pacific Highlanders and was redcarded for a late hightackle on Elissalde against France
By Merja, at June 14, 2009 11:56 pm
Nalaga has played for fiji in sevens and has just flown in to the country for the pacific nations cup.
By Anonymous, at June 15, 2009 7:50 am
