Bryan Habana vs Aus - "The quickest man on the field!"
As a Bok supporter, we really don't have a whole lot to rave about this year, so I thought I'd post an older clip of the speedster Habana at his best.
From 2005 against Australia in the Tri Nations, this is the first of his brilliant breakout tries against the Wallabies.

Has anyone seen the ad where Habana races a Cheetah over 100m?
Game agains Eng in RWC 07 they clocked Habana at 26.3mph!!!
By the end of this WC he will be acknowledeged as the best winger in the history of world rugby --- and yes I AM South African and goddamned proud of it!

Anonymous at September 15, 2007 12:00 PM: umm, Habana's great & all but that's 3mph faster than the fastest Olympic sprinter so I think their equipment might not have been all that accurate.

Nice to see him running with the ball in both hands, too. Old skool!

Fishboy, actually in breaking the world record Asafa Powell touches between 29 and 30 mph so do your research son before belittling others.

rupeni caucau or ohnahato for japan are the fastest men in boots
By Anonymous, at November 18, 2007 9:33 pm
Rupeni caucaunibuca is way faster then bryan habana, the only reason habanaz known for his speed is because he plays for a good team..
Habana also gets burnt by ngewenya in that usa and south africa game hahaah shame on his undies bailed like a little girl..

to the comment above: dont talk shit.
Habana has got to be the fastest man in world rugby. interesting to see if he could out pace Shane Williams over..i dunno 40m he's quick but Shane's acceleration is prob the best in the world.

habana may not be the quickest winger in world rugby but he has other qualities other than pace which is what most people only notice. His defence is solid like when he dump tackled Mose Tuilai'i or when he nailed Paul Sackey in the world cup final 07. He has the ability to stop-start and likes to do interceptions which end up with him scoring a try under the posts. He also is very strong which allows him to slip out of tackles like Rokocoko. He has good vision like when he does his kick and chases. He is a fantastic all-round winger and deserves to be named player of the year. He is not as quick as Ohata, Caucau (when fit) or Chavanga. He has been getting cocky though as Ngwenya in the world cup left him for dead when Habana thought he'd be slow. Ngwenya smartly wrong-footed Habana and so even though Habana was catching up on him, he had no chance catching Ngwenya. The way to stop Habana scoring is by dummying the long pass when he's lurking for an interception and runnig through the gap.
