Dangerous Argentinian tackle vs Wales

Bad up-ending hit here from Lucas Borges of Argentina against Wales a cpl of weeks ago. Similar to the Habana tackle on Percy in the Super 14 this year.

Basically he just mistimed his run, but after watching it again, it was silly to put his arms up and hold the legs. Probably just a reflex action.
Welsh fullback Kevin Morgan bared the brunt of it though and the Welsh were anything but forgiving.

Right wing Borges was sent off for 10 mins, which is fair punishment in my mind.

About the clip: No mistakes there: reckless tackle, and he got binned. I've got to admit it is very tempting to hit somebody who's in the air though... :D

Yup, the yellow card was OK. I still think he wasn´t trying to hurt the welsh player, should have been more caregul, though.

I believe looking at it through the refs position, the yellow card was right. At speed it looked like he could have done it on purpose.

In slow-mo, you can tell that he looked at the last minute but it was careless.

ANYWAY!: you can see the winger went in for tackle around his legs should be a red card but at full speed i can understand the ref giving him a yellow, and yes he did walk away when the ref was talking to him

Agreed, he didn't need to hold on to his legs...he paused realised what he was doing and still followed it through - you could see him make that decision and a stupid one at that.

ref was totally right in awarding the card. The tackle was dangerous. But it looked accidental and innocent enough. No need to bring out the big one. A good talking to and 10min in the bin solved that one. Now, no one deserves to get a tackle like that regardless of whether or not their welsh (unless they happen to be Gavin Henson.)
