Wales vs Italy full highlights

Wales maintained an unbeaten record in this years Six Nations after their convincing 47-8 rout over Italy in Cardiff on Saturday.

With arguments about the open or closed roof over, Italy were in the game at half time, with a 5 point margin being the only thing that separated the two sides. In fact, if Gonzalo Canale had held onto a simple pass with the try line beckoning, Italy may well have been in front after 40 mins.

The second half was all about Wales though, with man-of-the-match Lee Byrne taking a brace for the day, and flyer Shane Williams once again scoring two excellent tries himself, the second of which showed what a classy finisher he is.

Flyhalf Stephen Jones gave an immaculate display of place kicking with four penalties and three conversions and his replacement James Hook slotted two conversions.

Wales are looking good, and their fourth round meeting with Ireland at Croke Park will be a real test of character for a side that has come on in leaps and bounds this season.

i hate it when players overcelebrate poor/easy tries..lee byrne being a prime example...

i also hate tom shanklin, full stop

italy were clearly missing the attrbitues of some key players, bortolamis leadership, robertsons pace and defensive work, and i feel if bortolussi was fit, he would have played 15 and marcato 10..masi is an excellent player, not an excellent flyhalf...i know this "experiment" is only 3 games old but..not good

Overcelebrate? By pointing a finger? lol

Relax my friend and enjoy the open running rugby, you should speak to someone about that bitterness.

Well the one thing that Italy managed to prove was that their backs arent that bad after all, they actually showed a lot of flair and adventure its just a shame that the defence was slackened. I loved Nick Mallet's expression when Canale dropped the ball =P

Overcelebration, no, but celebrating before scoring is wrong. That's making fun of your opponents IMO.

I didn't see any overcelebration. If anything, I saw some Italian fit-throwing. There were a couple of times I saw an Italian looking for a penalty, which is not a good sign. Calling for penalties is par for the course in Italian football, I hope it doesn't take hold in rugby as well.

Totally agree about the overcelebration of Byrne. Really bugs me when he does that, something for footbalplayers....

wow, i just discovered this great site today, keep up the good work! i'm from germany, we don't have rugby on telly here, only very few games (world cup or six nations), and i missed last weekends games. finally somewhere to watch high quality highlights, thanks!

Decent game, nice to see some entertainment from the 6N at last this year.

Poor Lee Byrne's paying the price for scoring against England at Twickers this year. Plenty of crabby bitter English people around.

Go Wales for the grand slam! Ireland to beat them? only if wales get too cocky... anyone else notice that Bergamasco is a tackling machine! I don't know how many times i heard, "tackle, Bergamasco"...

As a neutral spectator, i really liked the match, particularly the 1st half were you couldn't tell who would win... and by the way, the castrogivanni try was good ( I'm a prop, so i celebrate every time a big guy scores heh)

I am Italian. I believe that, beyond the scoring, Italy has played well until Shanklin's try. Shanklin's try was like a kick in the shinbone, it was so unexpected that it has destroyed the Italian morals. But I think we saw that Italy uses the foot and the pass in a better way compared to past years. I hope that we will play well the match against France and that we will win at least against Scotland.

yet more evidence that little shane is, (as if there was any doubt) perhaps the premier northern hemisphere winger. and dont give me crap about vincent clerc, his team gifted him all of his tries v ireland.

Excellent result, the points tally could prove crucial in the last round so to get that amount of points could be very important. Italy played well first half but as someone said earlier, Shanklin's try was the turning point. As soon as we got a few scores clear we just ran it from everywhere.

Looking forward to the ireland game now, will be the hardest game of the tournament in my opinion. Should be a cracker.

Italy is growing up and that's the important thing for us, now we haven't a flyhalf(Masi is a centre). But in this tournament we have lost whit Ireland of 5 points and of 4 whit England, so is a good 6 Nations so far.

currently i think it's williams.habana isn't raw pace which everyone makes it out to be but williams is more aware and has the best step in the world.one example being his try against ireland.WILLIAMS ALL THE WAY!
