Christian Cullen 100m try vs Italy
The legendary All Black fullback scores this excellent 100m solo effort after getting the ball under his own posts.
The commentators have serious doubts about his chip kick, but he shows them out brilliantly by turning on the gas at the right time.
Just another classic try scored by the great man.

There's a lot of love for Cully out there but my only regret is he won't do down in history as one of the all time great All Black fullbacks (like Nepia and Gallagher) purely because Jon Mitchell sabotage Cullen's career.
Was interested to read the other day that England's Danny Cipriani said Cullen was his idol growing up. You can see in the way Danny runs that he's watched a lot of Cully.

what a guy. i love that guys like cullen, shane williams, jason robinson can use world class footwork over brute force. they're a dying breed these days, but still.
one of the most feared attacking fullbacks the game will ever see.

very good try. but if you watch the video right at the beginning you can see the Italian player taken late after he has made a kick.

David, you say Cullen didn't use brute force, but he could bench press 150kgs. Massive unit!

anyone else notice that the touch judge is doing a very good job keeping up...

look bud scandal, cullen scored against the best in the business repeatedly. Game in and out in the tri-nations he scored. I'm from Ireland. we can't compare to you boys with the national competitive game. but cullen repeatedly destroyed defenses. nobody did it like him. not burke, not montgomery, not campese, not wilson, not gallagher, not nepia, not lomu, not latham, and while i realise it is a double negative before somebody becomes sad enough to be an internet grammatical loser, not nobody! i reckon gallagher could have been awecome had he stuck to union though

Yeah, it's a pity "he won't do down in history as one of the all time great All Black fullbacks" isn't it...
"Regarded as the best attacking fullback of all time." (October 21, 2010)
this Cullen effort is right up there as one of the best [ever solo tries] we've seen. (August 23, 2006)
"Arguably the best fullback of the modern game."
Yeah, I'm sure he'll be forgotten in a couple of years though...
