Huge Samoan hit against the Bulls

Willie Lafaele gets sent off for this massive high hit against the Bulls in last weeks warm up game in South Africa.

The Bulls won 35-23, but that didn't prevent the Samoans from putting up a good fight and tackling hard all night.

  • Speaking as a flanker i would be very proud of that tackle......maybe not the yellow card though!

  • a yellow is a harsh call also speaking as a flanker

By Anonymous Anonymous, at April 30, 2007 9:48 am

  • I'd be proud of that one, even if i did get sin-binned. Also speaking as a Flanker

By Anonymous Anonymous, at July 10, 2007 11:21 am

  • i'd rather be smart, aim a little lower and not been sin binned.
    (speaking as a flanker too).

  • Tackle? What tackle?
Tackles involve these things called 'arms' and wrapping them around the ball carrier.

That was high and a shoulder charge. Hell I'm half surprised he didn't try and throw a swinging forearm in for good measure.

  • Speeking as a flanker, i'd say the guy who posted the last post doesn't play in the pack...

By Anonymous Tim, at July 18, 2007 2:33 pm

  • looks like was starting to go for the wrap but the guy hit the deck so hard he coouldnt get it good hit from another flanker

By Anonymous Anonymous, at November 16, 2007 4:56 am

  • I would be proud of the tackle also. (flanker as well)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 08, 2008 9:54 pm

  • Lovely Hit, But Only Problem i can see is the lack of a wrap, but it does look like he hit the deck to fast. (back row)

    By Anonymous no8HWS, at February 03, 2008 9:23 pm

  • Speaking as a back, so feel free to disregard this...

I thought that was a pretty terrible tackle - he made no attempt to wrap and was far too high. Look at the recipient's head snap back at impact; that's just not right.

Fair enough, in rugby you probably expect to get a few hits like that, but that doesn't change the fact that it could knock the bloke out, and is potentially dangerous - I think it was right he got a yellow card.

  • speaking as a SAMOAN.......
that is how we get down with rugby..........all u fags that think...(ooohh that was not a tackle)shut yo mouth......ur lucky not to get hit with one of those...

    man up .....or watch soccer.....

By Anonymous Anonymous, at March 12, 2008 6:13 am

  • wow

By Anonymous Anonymous, at October 03, 2008 6:54 am

  • Speaking as a scrumhalf, I wish I could do that kind of shit.

By Anonymous Leo, at November 20, 2008 3:30 am

  • speaking as a centre....
