Howlett and Tipoki big hits for Munster against Saracens
After receiving many requests for these two hits from the Heineken Cup Semi Final from two weeks ago, which took place between Munster and Saracens, here is a short clip of them for those who requested to see them again.
The first is from Doug Howlett on Neil De Kock, who ends up winded clutching for air from a perfectly legal challenge that dislodges the ball causing the knock on.
The ref blows the whistle seeing as there's no advantage, but Rua Tipoki fails to hear it and puts in a huge tackle on Saracens flyer Richard Haughton. For some reason, seeing a hit like this after the whistle has blown makes it seem even harder considering it shouldn't have happened.

I agree with the first commentary, directly to the ribs, a powerfull hit, but no arms!

I'm positive Howlett's tackle was illegal... there were no arms wrapped around for Legality...
Must admit though, in slow motion, it looks like there was an attempt, but end result I have to say is a foul against Howlett... Oh well... Lol at Tipoki, any excuse to get stuck in!!

i have to say, that looked more illegal than butch james tackle in the bath saracens game, he put his arm up, and just swallowed the player...butch didn't deserve a yellow...nevermind! dougie and tipoki the big hitters!

e kick (after the knock-on) from the Munster #10. Gets the ball away and then very carefully pulls it so he doesn't hit the opposition player in the head.

jesus. doug is a machine, has not declined, in all the years he has been playing, his tackling is still incredible.

The Kiwis have really brought an abrasiveness to the Munster backs. Tipoki has been magnificent, puts in more tackles than the back row!!!!
