Serious gas shown by Eagles wing Ngwenya
Zimbabwean born Takudzwa Ngwenya scored this electric solo 50 meter dash out of nothing against Samoa a few days ago.
He got the ball with not a helluva lot of space but showed exactly what a bit of determination and raw speed can do for a side.
Yes, the Samoan tackles weren't great (as the commentator went out of his way to point out), but the running and fend were great.
Fantastic to see the USA score a try like this. It also lifted their side and they ended up getting within 5 points of the eventual winners Samoa, thanks to an excellent conversion from captain Mike Hercus.
Final Score: 25-21 to Samoa
UPDATE: Watch his more recent brilliant try against the Springboks here.

that guy is really fast!! too bad he isnt playing for a stronger side, he would have a lot of opportunities to score great tries like this one

Thank you for showing some US highlights. It has been tough to get them here in the States. Our own ESPN has had two Rugby Highlights in the past 4 weeks and one was the Haka. Great try, hopefully this will allow more US players to be picked up by overseas clubs. So we can have more then 5 players with full time rugby experience.

The try where he gassed Habanna is even better, one of a number of defining moments of the world cup.

Yeh he made Habana look like a prop! it was the best try of the tournament for me!

Anyone in the S14 want to sign this kid? Do Zimbas get any dispensation in the SA franchises?
(other than Kenndy Tsimba got in years past)

Hey everyone! This guy is amazing and hopefully we'll see him in the Premiership soon! Try against Habanna was brilliant but watch the hand-off after the interception! Made me smile :) Can we have both on here please?
A big well done to all the so called smaller rugby nations! Have shown some of the rugby super powers what pride in your country and fellow team mates really is!
p.s. love the website :p

no way is this guy faster thn habana in a straight race habana would tank him!!!!! its coz he got sidestepped!!!!
HABANA IS THE FASTEST MAN IN WORLD RUGBY
By Anonymous, at October 02, 2007 1:36 am
THER IS NO WAY HE IS FASTER THN BRYAN HABANA!!
IF U LOOK AT THE STATS THIS GUY RUNS 100m IN 10.5secs
HABANA RUNS 100m IN 10.05secs
SO OBVIOUSLY THE AMERICAN GOT LUCKY BUT IT WAS STILL A GD TRY.
BUT HES NOT FASTER THAN THE MIGHTY BRYAN HABANA.

There's a saying in American sport:
Everyone gains 2 inches and 20 lbs in the program.
.. and Everyone loses 1/10 sec on their 40m time as well.
By Anonymous, at October 02, 2007 5:34 am
na mate "Z" is faster, Habana runs the 100m in around 11 seconds, said on that CNN programme when Habana raced that cheetah
By Anonymous, at October 02, 2007 7:29 am
naw habana is fasterits says around 11secs but his best ever time is 10.05seconds
and ngwenya runs it in 10.5seconds so habana is faster

Zee Ngwenya is a great player that I got to play with down here in Dallas, TX with DARC rugby for a few years. He started on our teams HS side and we grabbed him up and sent him off to under 20s and then US rugby took notice of him. Congrats to him!!

whoever said habana runs the 100m in 10.05 seconds is a complete idiot. if his best was 10.05, then why the hell would they say "around 11 seconds" ?! maybe "around 11 seconds" could stretch to, maybe 10.5 seconds, which makes sense when you take into account the speed both were going after they both accelerated as there wasnt much in it, but if im being honest i would have to say ngwenya is faster, yeah habana probably does the 100m in like 10.7 seconds, but look what happens when hes put against players with real gas...

Great try!
Although has anyone else been suffering the commentary of that muppet Paul Dickenson? He makes Alan Partridge look like a pro!

Dude Real gas...
I dont even think you could now the diffirence... Dude Habanna scored more amazing tries b4 than any body currently in international rankings....
Just look at hi debut try against England in 2004...
He smoked every one and not to mention blaizing Ausrtalia, TWISE....
Z is good and to me I feel that he got luky.. Habana on the other hand made the mistake of letting turn on the gas first... But wait I love to see challenges.. and I think at the moment Z is 26 great tries behind Habana..
And what ever I say I respect honor humble sportman...
