Vilimoni Delasau scores another mindblowing try for Clermont
Clermont's Fijian import Vilimoni Delasau scored a spectacular try to seal their 36-15 win over Auch on the weekend, strengthening their position at the top of the French Top 14.
Delasau got the crowd on their feet when he dashed close to 70 metres untouched to score the last try for Clermont in spectacular fashion.
The French club scored five tries for a bonus point win over Auch, 10 points clear of Toulouse which is second on the points table.
Delasau, Fiji's world cup and former Sevens star, has once again shown what an incredibly dangerous runner he is on the counter attack. We saw another classic from him earlier in the season, that time against Wasps.
This is surely going to be a hot contender for try of the season in the Top 14, or anywhere for that matter.

Too much competition for him at Clermont.....

As much as I love Clermont and Delasau, the defense was pretty appalling...
I guess one could argue that it looked appalling thanks to Delasau's capacity of making things look so simple! :-)

holy shit.

Everytime a try like this gets posted up someone comments about the poor defense.
Memo to the haters: You can't tackle what you can't catch.

The video IS available, just refresh your browser. It seems to be a common Youtube problem unfortunately.
Fantastic try. Love that first step and then the acceleration is intense. Can't stop them flying fijians!

nesian power what!!

Bloody hell, where does he find the extra gas to get by the 20. Top try. There would be a warm welcome for him at the Liberty :-)

My God! That was beautiful.

great try! but why do people so often thank god after they score. Even if god did exist, like he would care about people scoring at rugby! everyone knows god only helps people score at football!!

grizzwyllie: read the second part of my comment before so kindly calling people "haters". Then, look at the first two tackles and argue quite objectively that the defense was superb... Pretty similar to the two missed tackles by Heymans in the Toulouse-London Irish HC semi-final.
Agreed with you for the end of the action though. Delasau is gone and pretty damn impossible to catch up with.
PS. and I'm a Clermont fan, just in case you wondered.

Wuts up with the crappy music and slo-mo RD? Stop it...PLEASE.
And oh...Great run up the field and finally converting it into a try!
By Don, at April 29, 2008 8:23 pm
EFFORTLESS! love the music too! :)
By Anonymous, at April 30, 2008 6:00 am
Don, not all clips on RD are created by us, so how about you stop moaning and appreciate that we put up rare footage of great rugby from around the world, rather than nothing at all?
The day you contribute with anything meaningful is the day I'll accept criticism from you. Sorry to say that, but you moan a lot.
By GMC, at April 30, 2008 4:23 pm
hah. he told you Don. What a chump eh?
Amazing try! Not just outpacing the defense but he totally outstepped them too (which is probably what makes them look like such tards).
Love you RD
By Anonymous, at April 30, 2008 5:16 pm
damn RD, that hurt my feelings :{
LLLLOOLLL!!!
But come on...I moan a lot? U sound tearful like I just hurt urs innit? :D
By Don, at May 01, 2008 1:15 am
Yeah man struggling to dry my eyes here mate. lol
I love this try. Incredible to watch Delasau in action, even with the 'crappy music' eh Don.
By GMC, at May 01, 2008 6:02 pm
wot do they do in fiji, the balance is exceptional. very few players can move like that who are not of pacific decent, strettle is one of those. hope he is playing 4 england again soon
By Anonymous, at May 02, 2008 3:51 pm
@RD, Yes Sir, incredible try...we both can agree on that..
*group hug* LOLOL!!!
By Don, at May 03, 2008 6:22 am
very similar to jason robinson in 2003 against wales in the world cup when greenwood scored. just straight through the defence with such pace.
awesome

All right, coming into this over two years too late, but I'm outraged by Don - how can anyone possibly complain about replays of an awesome try with Led Zeppelin accompaniment?!? You must be mad. *shakes head in disbelief*
