Doug Howlett smashes Earl Rose
In this years Super 14 match between the Blues and the Lions, Doug Howlett and Earl Rose had somewhat of a sideshow going on, with a number of clashes. The first of which was a bit of a scuffle and supposed quick headbutt by Rose on Howlett.
Dougie Howlett sure put him in his place though, with two great tackles, the second of which shown here is an absolute monster.

What great tackling. The first one wasn't as hard as the second, but he drove through until he put him down, very good. Most times guys who let their legs drag fall off the tackle.

I like big tackles and i like them even more when they're legal and provoke a turnover scrum! Nicely done

why are the lions playing earl rose: I've seen a bit of him playing and all he seems to be able to do is kick- and even that isn't that great!

delighted to have him at munster.

Great hit. Sevres him right for wearing such a goofy scrum cap.

I probably would've enjoyed your comments-that was indeed a great tackle-if you haven't called Earl Rose a 'bastard'! At least he plays for a national team, what can you say!!Grow up man!

I can't understand why rugbydump keeps on posting illegal (as in, high tackles with only shoulders used) hits as "Great, big hits". Show me a proper tackle, one that is done according to the rulebook (first tackle wasn't bad, but second one just goes to show my point).
It doesn't take courage to shoulder someone high. For shame rugbydump.
That said, Rose shouldn't have headbutted either

^ are you blind?! There was absolutely nothing wrong with that that. Both arms around Rose, hit with the shoulder on Rose's shoulder and/or chest.
The only 'shame' here is that you're viewing things differently to the rest of the world mate! And that you don't have the balls to leave a name with your comment.
