Friday Funnies - Tal Selley shown up by determined Ngwenya

Tal Selley of Wales goes it for what looks to be a great try after out sprinting a few of the USA players. Little does he know, but Zee Ngwenya, the Biarritz flyer is hot on his tail and hasn't given up the chase.

Watch as Ngwenya swings at Selley's arm, therefore knocking the ball out causing Selley to drop it before dotting down.

Probably not so much funny as well played by Ngwenya and poorly done by Selley. He did score later in the match though, and that time made sure he dived down on the ball properly.

  • Isn't it illegal to hit an opposition player, even if it is on the arm?

He didn't rip it, he just slapped his arm. If I punch a player and he drops the ball, does that make it okay?

  • oh mr. z, always making such great highlights on rugbydump, thank god for his outstanding performance in the world cup this year, watch out for the us in 2011!

  • "He didn't rip it, he just slapped his arm."

Um...are we watching the same clip? He wrapped both hands around Selley, and they both went to the ground. It was a tackle.

  • If Z's arm slap is a penalty, then an ankle tap is a red card offense...

    Cmon

  • Sorry maybe i didn't see it rt did he not till touch it down ? Or are there different rules for try scoring in Sevens ? Either way well done Z.

Its a bit like that one by Caucau on BOD last year.

  • anonymous, it was a knock-on.

Unfortunately, Z isn't so good in the line on defense.

I can't tell you exactly what broke down (the analysis and replays in 7s is very brief), but I do know Wales constantly attacked his area of the line and the centers and wings made huge line breaks through his area of the defense.

  • Yes I like Z, but his defense leaves me speechless. He needs to improve his in this area, or grow a pair.
