Dan Scarborough big hit on Percy Montgomery

This is a fantastic hit by Dan Scarborough on Percy Montgomery in the second test between England and South Africa at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria. This tackle temporarily injured both players involved.

Monty was most likely winded from getting knocked on his backside by the English winger. As far Scarborough himself, you can see his arm go lame straight after the tackle.

Smashing hit.

I went to the test and the whole of Loftus went "oooohhh" afer that hit. Fair play to Percy for getting up so quick, and to Scarbs aswell. Pity we got stuffed but was an entertaining game, my smugness when we were winning at half time, walking to the toilet with my England flag over my shoulder was completely unjustified! The beer in Pretoria eased the pain though!

Huge hit. Might technically have been a charge, but he tried to grab hold and failed cos of the dead arm, so you can't blame him for that. Dan was the best player Phil Davies ever allowed to leave Headingly.

hey this is completely unrelated; but for all u pussy.. i mean 'percy'... loving southafricans out there: do u have any idea how much ppl in other countries hate and make fun of him for being the tard he is? like on the TV show inside rugby in oz they have the 'percy of the week', for the worst blunder of a play done in the super 14 that week... and if your ever around any kids, or adults for that matter, playing a friendly game of rugby and someone screws up you'll hear ppl yell 'haha what a percy!'.. im just curious if you guys do the same thing in SA as goes on in AUS and NZ?

nice hit i also was waiting a long time for this to come out on rugby dump -it is one of the only good things to come out of the tour!. i dont think its illegal because he made the effort to get his arms out - its just the recoil was so great that both players where pushed apart. btw does anyone know why dan scarborough has not had more games with england? From the merit of this tour alone he looked the best of a bad lot with his runaway try and this massive hit?
