Classic Clip - the Ref makes his point
As the Northern hemisphere rugby scene welcomes back many players that were away on World Cup duty, we look at a classic moment brought to us by not a star player, but by a referee for a change.
The game was between London Irish & Gloucester recently, and as referee Sean Davey spots a repeated infringement, you can see the opposition players around him clapping their hands expecting the inevitable. He calls across the guilty party to give him what we expect to be his marching orders. What he does is absolutely classic.
Just enjoy, and respect the calm and collected attitude displayed here by him. For pulling it off perfectly and doing something that has probably never been done by a ref anywhere before at this level of sport we say well done mate.
Perhaps these ref fella's do have a sense of humour after all.

gotta say that's the funniest clip I'd seen in a long time. Excellent way for the referee to make his point.

The really funny thing is that he actually should have binned the guy - gloucester were taking the piss. That was the third penalty in 4 minutes. That DIDN'T solve the problem.

hahahah thats awsome. we had a ref last year and our scrum half kicked a flanker in the scrum so he called them both and our captian over and our captain said mate its his first offence dont bin him. the ref replied with calm down calm down he's not in the bin. starts to turn away then comes back with... its a red! lol i had a chuckle that day can tell ye lol.

one of my favorite ref moments is during the BC championships (im from Canada if you hadn't guessed it already) and i guess one of the other teams players was talking back to the ref then he gave us ten meters (sweet) but he swore at him after that happened (pretty loud too) then the ref pointed at the ball which i was holding at the time and said to the guy "does that look like a soccer ball to you?" and then we got another 10 meters
