All Blacks Haka vs England - 1st Test
Dan Carter orchestrated a convincing 37-20 win for New Zealand over England at Eden Park, Auckland a little earlier today.
Carter scored 22 points with a try and seven successful kicks at goal. He was as good as his counterpart Charlie Hodgson was poor.
England's flyer Topsy Ojo managed two tries, but that was not enough as the All Blacks dominated after a good start from the English forwards. Dan Carter and the rest of the backs showed their class with some lethal finishing.
We'll have a full report and best bits up for you soon, but for now, here's the Haka for those who missed it.
Note: We'll do our best to get clips from all the other Test matches taking place, so check back soon.

By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 12:48 pm

By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 12:54 pm

By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 1:31 pm

By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 1:49 pm

The haka is brilliant
and anyway your precious england got whipped
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 1:51 pm
Ali Williams, what are you doing?
By Dave, at June 14, 2008 2:25 pm
What about the result?!
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 2:34 pm
Ahh who doesn't love the haka!?
All Blacks without the haka would just be wrong
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 2:34 pm
Yeh...Ali Williams, you may need to stop doing that...lol
By Don, at June 14, 2008 2:39 pm
Ali Williams looks like hes trying to win a gurning contest.
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 2:41 pm
Always have enjoyed watching the haka, but isn't it starting to turn into a bit of a joke with people like Ali Williams?
Forgive me for saying this but watching some of the white NZ players doing it is starting to make me giggle. It just doesn't seem quite as frightening to when the majority were Maori(or so I think) that did it.
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 2:49 pm
few things
1, haka is great so pistolplatt you're a moron
2, ali williams REALLY needs to stop doing that as he's making an arse of himself
3, sitiveni sivatu's (sprry if spelt wrong)try, the pass from nonu was about 3 metres forward if you could get it online
and 4, whens charlie hodgson going to leave?
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 2:51 pm
Hows life in the colony of NZ been since we left? Rather poor it seems.
For starters sort out your national anthem no one can understand it, while your at it stop this stupid dancing before a rugby match, it debases the sport. Then step back and look at your disturbing fondness for sheep.
Finally realise that your success as a rugby team is reliant on imports from the Polynesian Isles.
Just dont come crying to us when u wake up and see your neck deep in shit.
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 3:07 pm
Its even more pathetic to see a racist slagging match starting because the English lost (yet again) in a rugby match
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 3:16 pm
Yeah, NZ's just a shithole. Definitely. You can't understand the first verse of the national anthem because it's Maori. Ask any rugby fan about the haka and they'll know about it, ask anyone who's faced it and they'll tell you it's something to be revered and not just a "silly dance". And wow, sheep jokes. Originality isn't your strong point. You fail, go home
By Unknown, at June 14, 2008 3:18 pm
I think we'll have to accept the fact that ali williams will keep on doing the tongue thing...
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 3:29 pm
To anyone non-English people reading these comments, and particularly to the kiwi's here - ignore those dickheads talking shit about the Haka.
Im sure that 99.99999% of all real rugby fans from any country have the same view towards the haka as I do - that it's a wonderful tradition, one which contributes to making this the greatest sport in the world.
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 3:31 pm
...or on the other hand, maybe Ali Williams is trying to tell the ladies something?
By Don, at June 14, 2008 3:34 pm
PistolPlatt you are a dick, the haka and all the other war dances are a tradition and New Zealend Rugby would not be the same without it, i doubt you have ever seen the Haka live let alone stood infront of it, beacuse they say the only people who know the true meaning of the haka, are the ones about to get whats coming, today that was england.
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 4:19 pm
haha u lot are pathetic.
the hakas brilliant
nz deserved to win
england need to change sum shit
im english btw
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 4:30 pm
Sheridan's like am i bothered though? lol
We had a brilliant first 20 then AB scored and heads went down.
Can't believe Charlie missed that tackle on Nonu. He knows how dangerous he is cos he played against him like 2 weeks ago England vs Baba's
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 7:13 pm
I do agree with the fact that New Zealand wouldn't be half as good without the polynesian imports. Don't diss the haka, it has a spiritual meaning to the ppl of New Zealand, and Ali Williams is a Tool
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 7:22 pm
Doug Mason 07810030257 said...
basically STFU stop assuming the hes english
any1 else that is english u r making ppl like me look like dicks with the whole racist thing
NZ won fair and square
we arnt what we used to unfortunatley
but any racist remarks like that are way out of line
clearly people who say things like that know nothing about rugby
and 'bob'
shut the FU
where do you come from
or are you not going 2 answer my question because your too scared
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 7:42 pm
i think the haka has been defended plenty in these posts, but let off on Ali Williams. some of you have called him a tool, but the mere fact that he has risen to the level of being an all black so many times, i think gives him the right to do the haka as he pleases. even if he does kinda look like a douche.
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 8:10 pm
If I'm not mistaken, I have read on NZ sites that Carter ended up with 22 points and TWO tries?
By muddygiraffe, at June 14, 2008 8:26 pm
Really, if they would just do the haka before really big matches, it would make it seem important again. It's just become boring is all, overdone. Also, this has nothing to do with racism or prejudice, it's silly for people to pull the racist card on someone just because they're sick of seeing it.
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 8:29 pm
Kieran, dont get the comments about ali wrong, the haka is a great tradition but that goofy idiot fucks it up a little bit
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 9:31 pm
allblacks are da best - face the facts. stop arguing bowt da haka coz it defines the allblacks!!!!
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 10:51 pm
If you don't like the haka, do what we did (the Welsh I mean). When they play on your turf, tell them that they can only do it before the anthem, which they don't agree to do, so they do it in private in the changing room, which incidentally pisses off 72,500 fans who love seeing that shit, which incidentally riles up the NZ team to the extent of a hammering coming our way.
Long live the Haka, just let em do it their way that's all!!
By Anonymous, at June 14, 2008 11:31 pm
I'm an englishman, and i think the haka's great. Not only is it brilliant to see such passion, but it gives the game that follows a real intensity.
By Anonymous, at June 15, 2008 12:12 am
If you think the tongue thing by Ali Williams is weird than you haven't seen the NZ Maori haka against Tonga...everyone poking tongues and what not
By Anonymous, at June 15, 2008 1:06 am
god daaaaaamn ali looks like an arse. mccaw was bringing intensity, but someone needs to tell ali hes embarrasing them
By Anonymous, at June 15, 2008 1:55 am
I was going to mention about Ali Williams not being the first NZ player to stick his tongue out during the haka, but Ricky beat me to it.
The haka is a great tradition and I feel it creates a great atmosphere before the game starts!
By Anonymous, at June 15, 2008 1:55 am
Ma'a Nonu poking his out is fucking scary. Ali just looks funny. Ritchie is an intense and scary man. I personally LOVE the haka, i think its one of the greatest traditions in sport. Alot of english press and english people think it gives an unfair advantage because not everyone has it. Get a better expresson of heritage then come bitch. As an Australian, I love this stuff. Australia's only answer seems to be John Williamson singing Waltzing Matilda which is lame.
Accept the challenge the ABs throw out - thats what the haka is asking.
By Unknown, at June 15, 2008 2:32 am
I think it needs saying that Ali williams isn't 'goofing around or being a tool'. he's taking it very seriously and sees the haka as an honour to perform. part of the maori challenge is poking your tongue out and widening your eyes - do ali is just doing it right. i'd much rather that than seeing him do it half-arsed - take a look at some haka videos from before buck shelford got the boys to do it properly... it used to be a total embarrassment.
also i don't mind people making constructive criticism of the haka or anything else for that matter (on the subject of islanders, england have plenty of imports too so it's hypocritical to have a go at them for that)however if you only have racist remarks to make then don't bother. it's not in the spirit of the game or this website and i hope the RD admin deletes pistolplatt for good.
By Anonymous, at June 15, 2008 3:32 am
No one doubts that Ali Williams poking the tongue out was made to intimidate...problem is that's not the kind of display to strike fear in ur enemies, just make them chckle their asses off.
I think Ali Williams should look into gritting his teeth coz that tongue sticking thing makes him look like a clown.
By Anonymous, at June 15, 2008 10:13 am
I don't like the haka because it's really really scary. My mummy doesn't let me watch it anymore because it gives me nightmares. I pooped a bit when Ojo scored
By Anonymous, at June 15, 2008 11:21 am
No more scary here in France after we beat New Zealand. Everybody laugh at the haka.
And special thanks to Ali the master of the tongue's show. He's clown no1.
By Anonymous, at June 15, 2008 11:57 am
who lead the Haka ?
Mealamu ?
doesnt the captain ( McCaw ) lead it?
By Anonymous, at June 15, 2008 1:37 pm
Nah, I think it's either the most senior Maori who leads it or just whoever they pick.
By Unknown, at June 15, 2008 3:35 pm
ohhh that's great..
I'm an argentinian rugby player and i love this website
bye
By Anonymous, at June 16, 2008 12:24 am
I'm Maori and getting a bit bored of the Haka because it just seems like a formality more than anything now. They should do Kapa o pango at all the home games and leave Ka mate for overseas.
By Anonymous, at June 16, 2008 2:39 am
well said feklui .
By boomshanka, at June 16, 2008 2:40 am
I am english and youve just got to love the haka and i rekkon ali williams is funi as wen he does that lol buh still poor proformance from england good on topsy ojo tho :)
By Anonymous, at June 16, 2008 11:48 pm
At the end of the day, Ali Williams is a great player and has earned his black jersey and the right to do the haka the way he sees fit. Im Scottish by the by!
By Anonymous, at June 17, 2008 3:56 am
woah im english and i respect the haka!
i am half kiwi but still.
to all those dick heads that dislike the haka.... why watch it?
your just failed rugby players that will never be good enough to face the haka in real life so shhh.
By Anonymous, at June 20, 2008 1:36 pm
i say, just dump the formalities n get on wif da game.
By Anonymous, at June 29, 2008 8:11 am
He stuck his tongue out in tradition, that's not unique to him. Look up haka warrior and you'll see that most of them have their tongue stuck out, it was to frighten their enemies.
By Kyle, at May 07, 2010 2:22 am
OMG I loove them!
its really exciting! and they are also very sexy!!
xx
By Anonymous, at July 05, 2010 12:30 am
pistolplatt and brocket the rocket, you's are complete embarrassments, you make the rest of us english people seem prejudiced and narrow minded. The haka is a great spectacle, whenever the all blacks play england its the only part of the match i enjoy because england always get smashed. Our national anthem isn't exactly enthralling and we rely on players that aren't english as well, so your points are hypocritical and shit.
