The School of Hard Knocks - The Final
The much anticipated final of the School of Hard Knocks is finally here. Will Greenwood and Scott Quinnell have sculpted a group of troubled youths into a hardened rugby team over a period of a few weeks, and their final challenge is upon them.
It’s been quite a ride for the boys, who joined the programme from different backgrounds, all of which were troubled or mislead, and none of which had any previous involvement with rugby.
They’ve had their ups and downs, but they’ve made it to the final hurdle as a changed group of boys as they set out to play against an experienced and well organised team that pushes them to their limits.
Along the journey they’ve not only learnt about rugby, but about themselves as individuals and see that all things are possible through hard work and determination.
They’ve taken a hold of their lives now and look set to be stronger, better, and more focussed than ever as they’ve found a sense of self-worth and togetherness that many of us would have experienced through this great sport.
Everything they’ve learned has come down to this one final test, as they run out together to have the time of their lives and see if they can put everything they’ve learnt into practice in this, the final episode of The School of Hard Knocks 2009.
The final episode is 43 minutes long, so they're split into 5 different parts. It's well worth the watch, so enjoy. Apologies for the audio sync error on the first part. The rest are fine.

Thats great to see and of course they could have done it without Greenwood you saw that with him on the touchline they scored 2 great tries. This was a great series and hopefully more youth can be helped by the sport!

i enjoyed it...ref made a big mistake at the end, and scott quinell got his facts wrong, italy v. wales was a different situation

great series-used to hate greenwood cos i thought he was an english snob but have come out realising that hes a great down to earth guy and quite motivational. the star of the show has to be scotty quinnell though! great player in his day and fantastic to see him giving so much back! Legend of the game! OBE soon or somthing because of his work with dislexia, and with stuff like this program! but just so others know the standard of rugby in north wales is much higher than what was shown today!
gog rugby nut

Too bad North Wales is known more for the Wrexham roundballers than the rugby.
We had a great tour to Rhyl many years ago.

Wow:) lol from south Wales here, and tbh this was awesome:)!
To see complete beginners start rugby and progress that far in 12 weeks is unbelievable:)!
Not to mention their backgrounds even though that has nothing to do with it.
Shows what you can do with determination!
Welll happy for em.

Poccio
its the same idea. Should be a lineouts for a possible game winning play but the ref makes a hames of it and its a bad result.

Does anyone know the title song???
By Anonymous, at July 11, 2009 5:16 am
Title track is People Like You, by Dan Lambert.

Absolutely brilliant. Was getting pretty emotional at the end. Such a great thing that this show does for young guys who have made some bad decisions or have not had the opportunities that others have had.
By Abbyno7, at July 11, 2009 9:17 pm
Does anybody think that it would be a better idea if they just took regular everyday people and taught them to play rugby? Loads of these guys are just complete wasters who don't turn up and when they do they turn up drunk and do loads of stupid things. I wouldn't put up with that if I was Greenwood or Quinnell.

Loved the series, thanks RD

Brilliant stuff they really dug deep, so glad they didnt get routed, and so glad Cripsey got that kick because it really would have played on his mind if he missed. Superb series, Id definitly like Scott Quinnell as my mate, ehat a legend.

Yep i'll admit it, I was tearful at the end!!! There is so much untapped talent in the UK and probs the world around on hard-living youths out there who need new direction in life. Rugby can provide that, and hope it continues to do so.

softest 2 tries greenwood will ever get
By ybr, at July 14, 2009 1:01 pm
Wow, I mean I know they had Will but Conwy are shit beyond belief.
Wtf was up with that referee? Penalty kick into touch and they throw the ball?
