The Rugby Club Plays of the year 2010
As the Tri Nations comes to a close tomorrow in Sydney with the final game of the tournament, it signals the end of another season of Plays for the Rugby Club team at Fox Sports. This is their Plays of the Year compilation.
Sean Maloney takes us through their pick of the greatest moments - both on and off the field – from the start of the year as we get to see the usual mix of the best hits, great tries, and a fair smattering of good looking girls.
Speaking of girls, the hit of the year comes from none other than Wallaroos winger Nicole Beck, who made one of the hits of the Womens Rugby World Cup tournament recently.
In the tries category they’ve got big Victor Matfield and his neat chip and chase, as well as Corey Jane setting up Mils Muliaina for a fantastic try, but there’s no surprise in the best try award going to Quade Cooper and the Reds from the Super 14 a few months back.
Kurtley Beale, seen earlier today on the Friday Funnies post, makes an appearance in this clip too, for both his header and his sensational winning penalty kick.
All in all, it’s a great video with plenty of laughs and loads of top rugby action. Have a good weekend, and as always, get in touch if you see something you’d like featured on RD next week.

By decepti0n, at September 10, 2010 11:13 pm
Juggernauter -
It's an Australian show......... but it's very unlike Aussies to be biased.

In case you guys havn't noticed this is not a serious segment so don't whine about the bias.

Lol @ PDVs sad face when the redeemer (Henry) tried to console him.
(Almost) feel sorry for him.
Thought Rene Ranger busting through half the reds team to score in the corner might be a contender for try of the year.

You forgot the miss of the year with Giteau's kick when they lost at home to England. ;)

A girl getting hit of the year...come on, decent hit...but for a girl, wayyy bigger and better hits in the mens game, i would say thats a bit of positive discrimination, which i dont like. Might as well quit watching rugby if thats gona be the biggest and best hit of the year!

@tiny shoulder nudge...
your a knob. It was a fantastic hit, knocked the winger off her feet and she came from the other wing to do it!
I repeat; your a knob

try of the year my arse! lol
Cory janes kick was way better than the reds gay little touch rugby effort ;-)
By Anonymous, at September 12, 2010 11:05 am
haha Ned2or3 you clearly dont watch rugby if you think that was hit of the year! Womans rugby is at best the level of schools rugby and you think that deserved hit of the year...haha you make me laugh, theres a game of tag rugby going on beside the hockey pitch if you want to put your skirt on and join in.
If you think that was a better hit than this:
http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/2010/08/hosea-gear-makes-great-try-saving-hit.html
your delusional and are either a girl / a football fan / or have never played a proper game or high level mens rugby!
"you knob"...cracker mate, think that one up all by yourself! grow a set!

@ tiny shoulder nudge, it was an immense hit that shouldn't be compared to anything other than what it was - the women's world cup final. If it was best in the world u13's vs u13's and we saw a hit like that, it would also be f*ckin awesome. :)
Just because it was two girls doesn't mean its not as impactful or good to watch.
Plus, it's an Australian show and they loved it because it was one of their girls going good, so why not?

Compltete rubbish....if your going to go up for hit of the year you have to be compared to every hit, otherwise its not hit of the year, its best hit of that hit....which is easy to win if your the only entrant.
maybe you should stick to "u13's vs u13's" with thoughts like that.
By tiny shoulder nudge, at September 13, 2010 2:38 am
Tiny shoulder nudge, your a dick, who gives a shit what you think the hit of the year should have been, it's there show, it's an aussie show and they liked the tackle.
It's also a joke segment, so I think anyone complaining about the tries or hits chosen needs to get their heads examined.
By Tommo, at September 14, 2010 2:26 am
Listen Shoulder Nudge, you've completely missed the whole concept of the segment. If you don't like it, don't watch it you goose - given you get all that content for free, it's probably best you shut your neck you f--ken parrot.
By Anonymous, at September 14, 2010 7:29 am
@tiny shoulder nudge..
I repeat now with support; you are a knob
Not one hit I have seen this year needed as much effort or resulted with such effect..
As to the rest of your drivel, wipe your ass and shut it!
