Francois Steyns massive dropgoals vs Blues & Force
Young Sharks & Bok sensation Francois Steyn is fast getting a reputation for being a hard runner and one of the best drop kickers of a rugby ball around. He proved that again on friday, where he pumped a 53 meter kick over with ease against the Force. Great reactions from the commentators.
He did the same against the Blues, so I've edited this post to include both monster kicks.

good kick but i was watching him in the final and he had two attempts at drop goal, both terrible attempts.
one of them just missed the corner flag!.if he was more consistent, he could become a great kicker

He's young. Consistency will come with time. Good lord, what a starting point though.

What's the world record for a dropgoal? Can't be _much_ more than that eh?
By Unknown, at June 26, 2007 6:58 am
good Loooooooooord..! if that was inland at a higher altitude then he could have put it over from his own 10m line!!

oh schuks..South Africa vs Barbarians drop goal attempts just didnt want to get over that cross bar..but bluddy hell! you see the kick from 10 metres inside his own half..practically scraped the bar...too bad they culdnt get the full team out but Frans played great apart from his kicking :D

i know this is pretty irrelevant, but did ye see the height of the goalposts?wtf?
By Anonymous, at April 27, 2008 9:57 pm
Yeh- the goalposts were huge. Good thing about both kicks was that they were at reasonably important times- the one brought them to within one point, the other put them more than a converted try out-otherwise going for the drop goal would have been a bit silly.
