Francois Steyn winning dropgoals vs Australia

The 2007 Tri Nations is underway, in spectacular fashion. This match, played on June 16th in Cape Town, South Africa, went right down the wire.

After an unsuccessful Springbok raid, the ball was cleared by Larkham. It did not find touch however, allowing 20 year old Francois Steyn to work his magic.

Turning and making the 40 meter touchline dropgoal look easy, Steyn once again showed that he won't die wondering, backing himself and going for it.

The second was from much closer, but with more pressure. Both are phenomenal displays of skill and we should expect to see more of the same from this talented young man.

World Record drop goal attempt by Jaco

In the 49-0 thrashing of the Springboks by the Wallabies in the 2006 Tri-Nations, flyhalf Jaco van der Westhuizen of the 'Boks had a shocker of a game.

This was one of many screw-ups from that match that got him dropped by Jake White.

Back home in South Africa he got absolutely ripped to shreds by the public, especially for that squeaky voice of his when shouting at the Ref that it was a dropkick. A moment he'd rather forget no doubt.

Jaco is back in action in the Super 14 however with the Bulls, who're currently competing for a spot in the semis. He's having a good season too, mainly coming on from the bench as an impact player, and sporting a rather impressive beard.

Francois Steyns massive dropgoals vs Blues & Force

Young Sharks & Bok sensation Francois Steyn is fast getting a reputation for being a hard runner and one of the best drop kickers of a rugby ball around. He proved that again on friday, where he pumped a 53 meter kick over with ease against the Force. Great reactions from the commentators.

He did the same against the Blues, so I've edited this post to include both monster kicks.
