Corne Krige elbow on Martin Johnson

As all English fans out there will remember, this was the infamous test where Krige got cited afterwards for a number of dirty incidents. In one crazy ruck, he even swung a punch that knocked out his own teamate Andre Pretorious!

Don't get me wrong, we have great respect for Krige. He's a legendary Springbok captain who always led from the front with his courageous never say die attitude, and off the field he's a true gentleman.

But, he did lose the plot at times, and actually ended his Super 12 career with suspension after inexplicably head butting a Chiefs player.

He was strangled and pulled down from the maul by Johnson in this incident, so you can understand the provocation, but it's fair to say that this Test was one that he'd rather erase from the history books if it were possible.

Super 14 Plays of the Week - Round3

A few big hits, classic percy's, and a dancing fat guy. All adding to another brilliant edition of the Plays of the Week.

I was at the game between the Bulls & The Force, and that spear tackle was fun to watch live!

Dial up warning - 5 mins long, so a fairly large file, but well worth the wait.

Robbie Fleck punches Ben Cohen

Springboks vs England 2002 at Twickenham. One of the games that tarnished the Boks reputation. If it wasn't Robbie, it was Corne, but here Robbie Fleck gets in a cheap shot on Ben Cohen. The ref decided that it wasn't worthy of a yellow card for some reason.

Cohen takes it on the chin, literally, and walks off. Good on him. I suppose it wasn't the best punch in the world, especially considering Robbie is right handed!

Lloyd Johansson coat hangers Stirling Mortlock

Brumbies vs Reds (Super 14) from this weekend. Low scoring game, but pretty eventful. A bit of a punchup in the first half, and then this in the second.

Stirling Mortlock cops one in the face. The fact that Lloyd Johansson has forearms the size of my thighs makes the impact serious. Mortlock is knocked out cold and is taken from the field.

Johansson faced a SANZAR Judicial Officer in Brisbane & was given a two week suspension. He admitted the tackle was dangerous but stated it was not intentional but was an instinctive reflex action on an opponent taking an inside pass.

The referee’s assessment of the tackle was exactly this, which impacted on the decision to issue a yellow card and nothing worse.

The Judicial Officer however determined that the tackle was recklessly dangerous and a further penalty should be imposed as there was a need for a deterrent to combat this type of offence.

But for the facts that Johansson’s previous conduct had been exemplary and he had shown genuine remorse and had apologised personally to Mortlock, a longer suspension may have been appropriate.

Super 14 Plays of the Week

Inside Rugby is a fantastic rugby show from Australia. Each week they talk rugby, interview players, and have their predictions for the upcoming week. The best part of the show though, is at the end when they have their Plays Of The Week.

They feature all the best moments from games on the weekend. Including best tries, Tackle of the Week, Percy (named after Percy Montgomery - for dropping the ball)of the week, Anti Percy (brilliant catch or pass), Kick of the week, (normally sarcastic!), and of course, some great shots of all the cheerleaders around at the game.

Look out for them each week. Well worth the watch.

Try Savers & Rib Breakers - Part 2

Another brilliantly edited series of hard hits and stuff-ups. If you enjoyed Part 1 you'll absolutely go nuts for this edition as it's a great improvement in terms of editing and of course, music. The soundtrack works brilliantly.

Great for a psych up before a game.

This footage is very similar to Try Savers & Rib Breakers 1, but the editing and timing is better on this one. The first was experimental, but they get better from here! Enjoy.

Try Savers and Rib Breakers - Part 1

This is one of the best and most recently updated big hit videos out there. Graeme has once again created a masterpiece. Some of you may not like the music, but hey, each to their own. I think it works quite nicely.

Post your comments if you'd like more, or if you think you can do better - the proof is in the posting.

Matt Dunning Drop Goal!

Matt Dunning is a prop from the Waratahs, who's also played for the Wallabies on numerous occasions. He's pretty much a fat bastard, but has a bit of talent. He's also known for getting in punchups in pubs, nightclubs, and even with his own teamates at times! It must be that babyface complex.

Anyway, in this particular game the Waratahs needed to win the game by 2 tries to advance to the semi finals. So in other words, they were meant to be keeping the ball in hand, not kicking.
Dunning meant for the drop goal to miss, thus giving his team the penalty (which they'd use to score a try). However, he slotted it perfectly, and as a result lost the opportunity for scoring the try.

NSW won the game 25-14, but not by enough to get into the semi-finals.

Many in the team embarked on a 48-hour bender which saw Dunning break teamate Tuiavii's nose, crash tackle teammates, harass a cab driver and annoy members of the public. Quality.
