  • Well this isnt a request for a particular video just a type. I put in Ireland in the search engine. There was about two videos that came up that would show a good side to Irish rugby, they were Brian O' Driscoll tackle on Clement Poitreanaud and when they destroyed England. Roughly eighgt of the remaining videos were where Ireland played badly or had great tries scored against them. I am not saying these should be taken down I as the tries scored against them were good tries or that the games where Ireland played poorly should be taken down as they show how Ireland need to improve and well done to the lesser team they were playing e.g. Georgia. I would just like to see the good side of Irish rugby on the site.
    Thanks

  • On 17th February 2000, England beat Italy 59-12 and Neil Back scored a drop goal in that game. Can you get the video of this drop goal by any chance?

  • My request is from the 2003 World Cup Semi Final between England and France between 39 and 40 minuets Matt Dawson picks and goes from the bottom of a ruck when he takes the ball to ground France conceed a penelty and you can see Serge Betson kick him in the top of the head. I think it is a bit of dirty play that was not picked up in the game. Thanks

  • Hey guys i was wondering if you could make a highlights video of the 2005 tri nations decider between New Zealand and South Africa at Dunedin. The date was the 27th of August 2005, the time im not exactly sure. I think it was around 7.30am-9 GMT.

This would be much appreciated, you guys are doing an excellent job with the site.

  • HI,any chance of the massive hit o'driscoll put in on cocky mike phillips in the leinster ospreys game last nite(5th Jan) at the RDS in the magners....

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 06, 2008 5:48 pm

  • GREAT TRY BY A PROP.

if youre still looking for them, check out the one by cian healy for leinster versus glasgow in the magners league from october 2007. he's a twenty year old up-and coming-player for leinster (and hopefully ireland)

a good blindside move well set-up by the hooker blaney and healy shows great pace and a nice step to finish.

type 'cian healy try' into youtube and it will be among the first couple of results

  • My request is from the guinnis premiship today (jan 6), leister vs harliquins. although quins were destroyed, the best try was in the 60- somthing min (i think 64th), where leister ran about 65m from their try line with several nice hands, then in the second phaze goode put in a beautiful cross-kick to the no. 6 how had a blinder of a match.
    thanks!
ps there were many other good tries too!

  • Hi guys, and thanks a lot for this unique web site.

I just saw Toulouse vs Castre, in French Top 14.
I think it would be pretty cool to see some clips of that wonderful game here... it was a brilliant display from the Toulouse backs, including nice line breaks from Florian Fritz, stunning distributing skillz by Poitrenaud (who was played as a No 12 !) and wonderful lines from Vincent Clerc. As a result, Toulouse scored 5 tries in that game, including a hat trick from the dazzling winger.

    i think it's worthing !!

    Thanks again,

    F. Galtié

  • i'd love to see a wendell sailor highlights video but in particular wallabies vs samoa in 2004 when trevor leota came on in the second half and started smashing people and the wallabies were close to the line and wendell got an inside ball and bounced off leota then scored the try. itd be great to see some clips of wendell soon cheers.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 07, 2008 4:34 pm

  • Keep them coming guys.. we're taking note.

About the John Bentley try, we've been trying to get that one for a while. I was actually at the game myself and it was an amazing run.

Regarding all the other requests, if anyone actually has footage themselves, on an old tape or whatnot, please email me and we can discuss how to get it online.
    cheers

  • o driscoll hit on mike phillips. leinster vs osperys on fri/sat 4th or 5th. just at end of 1st half!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 09, 2008 3:55 pm

  • firstly, lets see some more of wot strettle can do!!!!! i.e. more videos of his amazingness

secondly i think it was in 2001, a try by dan luger in like the last minute for england against austrailia nd balshaw chipped it through, would love to see that.

thirdly in the same series or a later one dan luger also scored in the last minute against SA, it was a break away try from an interception on their own line nd i love seeing SA being battered nd this a feel is a defining moment of some of their past 'glories!!'

    thnx alot

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 10, 2008 5:59 pm

  • oh yeh and a wendell sailor reel would be great, especially in 2003 in a test against wales, he scored a 105m try which i havnt seen since then, that would be a real treat

    cheers

  • Could you find Barry John's try from Lions v New Zealand Universities on the 1971 Tour?
It would also be nice to see Gerald Davies' try from the Sam Doble Memorial Match again

  • Hey just wondering if you could get the tries from the Edinburgh vs Leicester Tigers match at Murrayfield? Great win for the Gunners but pretty pissed i missed the match.

Oh and also could you get Rory Lawsons try for Gloucester. It's a beauty. Scored against the Osprey's.

Oh yeah for Scotland i was wondering if you had highlights from any of their Five Nations matches in 1999. They played some great rugby that year and won the Five Nations that year too.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 12, 2008 10:37 pm

  • Hey, for your "big hits" section, could you maybe find footage of Ben Hinshelwoods amazing dump tackle on a full steam ahead Wendell Sailor (he dumps him back 10 yards) in Scotlands 2nd tour match in Oz in 2004(i think).

    Thanks :-)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 13, 2008 11:32 pm

  • Hey, could you get Chris Patersons try in the 1st test match on Scotlands 2003 tour of South Africa??? Amazing score!!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 13, 2008 11:35 pm

  • I was in the Super 12/14 in 2004 or 2005. Hurricanes vs Highlanders. Nonu lit Ben Blair up in probably the biggest hit i've seen on TV.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 14, 2008 11:00 am

  • What about this Aurelien Rougerie try against Toulouse in the semi-finals of the top 14? It has been elected best individual try of the season last year in France.

  • Check out this try by the Ospreys against the Scarlets in last seasons Magners League. Hook scores the try but its set up by a brilliant run by shane williams from his own half. Would be well worth putting it up on your site. Cheers! By the way the commentary is in welsh.

  • During Fiji's warm-up matches before the 2003 world cup, they played the Queensland Reds in Australia. Fiji's captain at the time, Alifereti Doviverata, smashed Elton Flatley in a text book Flankers tackle and left him rolling around on the floor for ages. It would be really great if you could unearth some footage of this, please.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 14, 2008 6:53 pm

  • Just trying to remember some good tries.

    1. If i remember rightly, Balshaw scored two wonderful tries again argentina, it was either his debut or very early on in his international career.

    2. Jon Bentley, ex-league player scored some fabulous tries for the lions during the 97' tour to SA.

These would ne nice to see

  • In 1973 Tonga beat Australia 16 - 11 i think. So i want to see some highlights from that historical event. Especially the hard hitting tackles from the fullback Valita Ma'ake, a real tackler. Also could someone show the highlights of Tongas team from the RWC 2007.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 16, 2008 10:24 pm

  • Hi !. Lots of request already, but anyway. It would be very nice to have a combined highlights of the retiring Dominici Pelous Bestsen and Ibanez. Esp Domi and some Betsen "The Reaper" action. the 2002 6N where he just shut Johnny off, for ex or the amazing catch against Oz in 2004 (2005 maybe).

    Cheers

  • Hi guys,
I've a couple of requests here please, they may both be hard to find, i do have them on vhs but not the technology to get them from vhs to laptop! first was scotty gibbs try against england in 1999 at twickemham, it was an awesome try for two reasons,1. scotty gibbs is a legend and 2. it handed scotland the last 5 nations title. secondly, Alan Tait also scored a peach against england in the same tournament at twickers (yes i've got that on vhs too!)

Oh yeh, i'd also love to see Gav Hastings on the legends

    thanks

  • A request for another video, not a moment from a game but from before hand.

Richard Cockerill playing agaist NZ at Twickenham (1997 I think) marched the England team face to face with the NZ team whilst they were preforming the haka. Would be great if you could get a clip of this! Maybe include the anthems as well :)

    Thanks,

    thanks

  • 8/12/07 - Clermont vs. London Wasps. I'd love to have a look at the 2-minute TMO decision on the Ledesma try.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 18, 2008 5:49 pm

  • This isn't really a specific video request, but just a general-team thing... I searched up scotland and all that comes up is either tries against scotland, a simple team compilation and the lamont tackle in the SA game... It would be nice to see a couple more good videos of the scots, as they are a good team that deserved to be recognised for their better side.
    Thanks so much!

  • I dont have much information about the try I want to see, I just remember it was made by france and that it was pretty old , what was great about it was that france`s fly half made a drop kick pretty near to the other team ingoal only to pass over the defense pick the ball and score a greeat try

  • Great work with site, a nice blend of tries and violence at the moment. I wondering- as I made an account just for this- being a Scotland fan it's pretty hard to find any decent footage of them, is there any? Scotland aren't renowned as great runners but the two Lamonts have run through or around the best of them, there must be a footage of them somewhere that I can't find. Sorry for the vague request, what I was really looking to say was any clips of Jason White (haven't seen him for Sale this year) hammering people would be great.

Ben Tune and Stephen Larkham both scored three tries from memory and it was one of Jonny Wilkinson's first test matches for England.

Thought you might like to know as it is a fenomenal hit. Also another one for Classic Encounters: Wales vs. All Blacks (not the one you guys already have) in RWC 2003. Thanks

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 23, 2008 4:15 pm

  • this one is ref related
i think in one of the england-france test matches last summer, the ref was near a ruck, and as a player came in, knocked him over and you could the smack and then the ref saying 'oh sh!t' over the mic, pretty funny moment

  • SA Vs NZ in the 2002 Tri-Nations...

A bok 'fan' decides to jump the ref...McCaw reacts first and gives the fan a good thump in the face for his troubles.

"McHugh had to retire with a dislocated shoulder after 43-year-old Pieter van Zyl tackled him to the ground a few minutes into the second half of the match won 30-23 by the Kiwis"

Would be good to see this clip once again, i've not been able to find it on the web.

Speaking of Justin Harrison, in the 2002 (I Think...) Super 12 Semi Final, Harrison scored his first ever Super 12 try late in the game to seal the game for the Brumbies, is it possible for that to be found also.

Love the site, keep up the good work.

one of the greatest individual tries of all time. also, some sort of montage from that tour would be amazing. The test side was good, but the midweek players like catt, beal, greenwood, healey, bateman etc produced some wonderful flowing rugby.

amazing site, keep up the great work! thanks

Great site, guys, keep up the good work!

  • Would love to see a clip of Viliame "Stretcher" Satala of Fiji snapping Christian Cullen in the final of the first ever Wellington Sevens 2000..Cullen just got on to the field for only a minute maybe and gets carried off much to the dismay of his home fans. In the same game an unknown guy by the name of Vilimone Delasau lights up the rugby world with an array of footwork magic never seen before that bamboozles Jonah Lomu, Eric Rush and the whole of Kiwi land... Please hook it up if you guys can find it, cheers.

  • The rash of citings with suspensions continues to spread. The latest are two hookers - Mathieu Blin and Olivier Diomandé.
The two were cited after a brawl in the Top 14 match between Stade Français and Montpellier played at Stade Jean-Bouin in Paris on 5 January.

They appeared before the disciplinary committee of the Ligue Nationale de Rugby, the body which regulates professional rugby in France, and were each suspended for 40 days.

They have already served part of their sentence and will be allowed to play again on 14 February.

The two clubs have each been fined €5,000 because of the general brawl that broke out between the teams when the two hookers clashed.

Blin and Diomandé were initially yellow-carded during the match, but continued fighting once they were off the field and were both eventually red-carded for their inappropriate behaviour.

  • One of the best handoffs I ever saw was by John Devereux, the big Welsh centre, against Australia in the 3rd/4th place play off of the 1987 Rugby World Cup. It would be great to see it again. 'Fraid I can't recall at what time the incident occurred, given I only saw highlights and that it was more than 20 years ago!

  • My request is for the try made by Oriol Ripol in the game from the Guinness Premiership, Sale Sharks vs Harlequins on Friday 25th January 2008. It was made in the second half (m. 54) after a great Mark Cueto individual counterattack effort. Note how the two defenders going to tackle Ripol trip themselves over and fall allowing Ripol to score the try.
In this game as well, Lee Thomas "tackles" the ref at min. 67 before Harlequins try because he was in his way.

Thank you and regards from Barcelona, keep this great site as good as always.

I suggets to put a summary of this match, you would not regreat it.

  • Just been reminiscing about college rugby with a few of the boys, and was reminded of an almighty session we had after England's last-gasp victory at Twickers over Australia in the Autumn Internationals from 2000.

We're pretty sure it was Dan Luger scoring the winning try in something like the 10th minute of stoppage time from a Wilko cross-kick with Australia leading by 4 pts. The decision went to the TMO, the camera showed an optical illusion of Luger not being in control of the ball, but it was given to the unbounded delight of our clubhouse common room!

    What scholars, what men...

makes me laff every time. the second one, is one i hope you can find, it was aired countless amounts of times on the "soccer AM: All sports show" on sky sports in the UK. its a video of a fight breaking out in amateur rugby, th full back sprints for a good 6 seconds, pulling his arm back to smash some one, when a forward turns round and uppercuts him just as he gets to the fight, its a classic, and hilarious. if you ca find it and post it......that would be IDEAL. cheers

  • Everyone likes a good handoff, and Gavin Henson's beauty on an unsuspecting English player last weekend was awesome. twas in the second half anyway during a Welsh breakaway, I would give you more details but I am a Welshman living in Ireland and have suffered a complete lack of highlights. Thanks

  • Apologies for lack of detail I can't remember who it was against but a few years back Brain O'Driscoll, playing for Ireland, took a pass, fixed his man and then without looking just floated a pop pass to his left for I think Dennis Hickie to run onto. It was an equisite pass that just seemed to hang in the air and brought the runner through the gap.

  • In the "gaffes and foulups" section of ReugbyDump....

    USA Sevens, Day 2, 10 Feb 2008,

Wales about to score first try of the game, Tal Selley gets his arm hacked by USA speedster, Takudzwa Ngwenya, forcing a knock-on in goal.

That defensive play set up much of the exictement of the game, and almost cost Wales dearly, but a USA try at full time set up 21-19 Wales, with the conversion to come. USA misses, and Selley lives another day.

  • Neath Vs South Africa in the 1994/1995 season when SA came over for a tour of wales. The match was infamous for its violence, firstly for Dalton cleaning his boots on Gareth Llewellyn's hamstrings and the big punch up around the 54th minute which saw Chris Wyatt run 40 metres just to join in.

  • hey guys great website!!!

if you could find Os Du Randt's tackle on matt burke, that would be great!! it was during a super12 game in 1997, cats vs waratahs in Sydney,I'm sure it was early in the 2nd half - has to be one of the best crunching tackles EVER, Matt Burke had to leave the field, Also Os's tackle on Piet Krause, super12 1998, when Os moved to the Bulls and played the Cats at loftus, it was in the first 10 mins.
Lastly Christian Cullen's tackle on Matt Burke during a Bledisloe Cup game 1998, i think it was the 2nd test which was played in Australia, this tackle I'm sure was the last play of the game and it seperated Matt Burke's shoulder.

Thanks again, PLEASE keep thois website going

  • Firstly i must say that I am a massive fan of this site but the only probem in my opinion is a lack of footage from the french top 14. Living in britain i get to watch the Magners league, Guiness premiership, Heineken cup , super 14 and all major internationals but absolutely no french rugby. It would be fantastic if you could do something about this.

  • Alright mate, awesome site it's amazing!
Seeing as you like forwards tries, Harlequins flanker Will Skinner scored a try from a chip and chase on the weekend against Worcester and thought it would be a good clip to see. Quins seem to have no decent clips on here apart from Monye's smash!

Nearly 100 points in the game all together including some good tries and one in the first 40 seconds.

Also, will u be putting up the best bits of the super14 like previous seasons? Funny stuff

  • Looking at the 'Legends' section I thought there was quite a strange mix - Corry gets a tribute but not any of the other retiring forwards - Dallaglio, Johnson, Back, Hill, Leonard. In fact. there are lots of legends that missout. Why not do a 'gone but not forgotten' mix of past legends? You could include Gregan and Mortlock, Wood and Hickie, Joubert, Skinstadt, Van der Westhuizen...

  • Another reason Rugby rules over gridiron..
Watching an NFL game this past fall, and the referee called a penalty.

Team captain given two choices (accept the penalty or decline).

Captain makes the wrong call. Coach calls the referee to the sidelines and gets to change the call.

That's what makes rugby so special -- players still manage and run the game. Gridiron is a bunch of automatons that don't bother knowing the rules.

*Agustin Pichot's kicking skills against i think it was Scotland in the 2007 World cup. He kicked the ball up, then he kicked it again just before it hit the ground and i think he scored a try.
*I also want to see the "almost" spear tackle by the Highlanders on the 1st week of the super 14. One guy was about to spear tackle, and then the other guy turned him back up so he fell on his back.

Right in front of the post with a gale blowing contepomi kicks the ball through the posts and the linesmen put up the flags, but the ball blows back out through the posts and a connacht player catches the ball on the 5metre line and tries to play on!
    Should this have counted?
Truly the worst conditions to play rugby in?

  • are there any videos of before the tonga samoa game at the world cup where they both did their war dances

  • Hi firstly would like to see young Ross Rennie's hit on BOD during the Six Nations match this year. He flipped him in the air. Also the TSRBs One and Two aren't working. You probably know that already but thought i should mention that. Also i might have requested this already but the Scotland vs France match during the 1999 Five Nations had some great rugby. Be nice to see for all your Scottish fans.

  • Hey, great site guys!

Wondering if you could put up the highlight of the winning try at Leicester v Sale game which was played on February 23rd, scored by Chabal with McAllister with the setup.

    Cheers!

  • Can you please upload the big hits at the Blues/Cheetah's game last weekend? It had a lot of big tackles in it. Also can you upload the big chase by Highlanders' Number 8, Adam Thomson?

  • Hi guys, I went to see bristol vs bath at the weekend (sunday 2nd march) and there were quite a few big tackles that I would really like to see replays of. If you manage to get the clips it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • scott gibbs big hit and punch
on Northern Transvaal back Grant Esterhuizen on the 97 lions tour

By Anonymous Anonymous, at March 06, 2008 6:05 pm

  • Sorry for the vaugness, but I was just wondering if you have any match videos for either English wing, Viancolo (Volcano) or David strettle. Both are a pleasure to watch. Strettle did a mental run on your six nations video from last year and in the first game , before injury, he did another trade mark run.
So it is possible to post this run, or any genral tries or just info converning these two world class players.

    Thanks very much

    Brian

  • Ok two words: JASON WHITE. His hit on Sackey was huge and he raised the crowd when he came on. Happened during today's Six Nations match with England at Murrayfield. He also won Scotland a penalty with great work on the floor.
Might as well have a section for his huge hits.

  • i saw that you have a picture of wendell sailors face at the bottom of the website on a banner, but theres no videos of him!

...one particular memorable try i remember was during the wallabies first game of the 2003 world cup vs argentina.. he charged through 3 or so defenders before scoring.. if you could find it that'd be awesome!

  • the hit on hugo southwell by vainikolo in the england scotland match please. the time on the clock was 67:39, all credit to southwell who managed to offload all the same.

  • I reckon you should put up some videos comparing rugby to other sports, seeing as my thread 'What is the best sport?' was reasonably succesful. You could do the obvious ones like rugby vs football (there are some great ones on youtube) or some more unusual ones. It has the potential to be the new try savers and rib breakers!!

I know that Ollie Neill also would like to see this suggestion to happen.

    Cheers

  • Good site fellas, often while away a few mins catching up with action you don't see anywhere else.

Any chance that you have Henson's hit from the 6N game against Ireland, March 9th? It was in the 2nd half but can't remember the exact time. It wasn't shown in replays due to another incident just after - if anyone can help out, that would be great.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at March 09, 2008 5:26 pm

  • i have noticed that there aren't any bristol highlights. how about tom arscotts 2 great tries against wasps on 22nd nov 2007 or the 17-0 victory over stade francais (october or november 2007

By Anonymous Anonymous, at March 09, 2008 10:58 pm

  • A compilation of some of the massive hits in the Brumbies vs Waratahs Super 14 match on Friday 7th of March would be awesome! Torrential rain as well.
    Cheers

  • Any chance you can you get the Jason White hit on Sackey? It was pretty late on in the game. It's been a while since he's hit someone hard, would be nice to see it again. Also I'll second the request to Southwell/Volcano hit.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at March 10, 2008 9:13 am

  • how about the highlights from the pacific islanders' tour of the tri-nation teams? and the northern hemisphere tour too?

couldn't find one single video on the web

By Anonymous Anonymous, at March 10, 2008 9:19 am

  • Please can we get Whites hit on Sackey.

Nathan Hines winding sheridan up throughout the game a bit of their own medicene:
This is what Hines said in his collumn in the Scotsman newspaper:
Maybe I was winding him up. Just a little, perhaps. The first time I tackled him he knocked the ball on. I got up off the ground and patted him on the head. "You've knocked on there, Andrew," I said, with, on reflection, a hint of sarcasm in my voice. "Bad luck mate." I may also have done a little whoop which I'm guessing didn't go down too well since Kaplan came over to me and said "hey, leave it".

The second half saw another coming-together. After they conceded that penalty within a minute of the restart I gave him another pat. "Nice one, big fella." He came at me with something that you wouldn't want to print in a family newspaper but I can't really blame him to be honest. We've all been there, after all. This time Kaplan got more stern. "There's enough pressure in this game without you making things by chirping." Fair point.

  • Please post O'Driscoll's try versus Bourgoin from November 2004. It was in the dying minutes of the game and was a match-winning try. on youtube it can be located by typing 'BOD more genius' however this clip has no sound. either way you HAVE to let people see this try, perhaps it is even better than his 2001 lions effort.

  • There was a great try by Gloucester, it was against Wasps a couple of seasons ago I think, May/June 2006 kind of time. It was quite early in the second half I think. Wasps were attacking phase after phase deep in the Glos 22, the ball was turned over and then like lightning Lamb pinged the ball out wide and JSD ran it almost all the way up the pitch, and gave a pass to the winger (Bailey I think) to cross over in the corner. It was one of the best tries I have ever seen. If you guys could get that it would be great. Thanks.

  • I think you should do a video to teach the people who still post as anonymous how to put a nickname in.....seeing as some people are still so special that they are down as anonymous but then put "Im Rob (or w.e their name is) so im not anonymous" 8-)
