Heineken Cup Quarter Finals trailer

There’s a feast of rugby this weekend as we see the next round of the Heineken Cup take center stage in Europe with the Quarter Finals. 91 000 tickets have been sold before the weekend started.

On Saturday Cardiff host last season’s finalists Toulouse at the Millennium Stadium, with 30 000 tickets already having been sold, smashing the Welsh record of 27, 114 for a home Heineken Cup match.

Leicester host Bath in an all English clash at the Walkers Stadium which could well be a classic, if recent meetings are anything to go by.

On Sunday champions Munster will welcome the Ospreys to Thomond Park, where a red army of 26 000 will be expecting nothing less than progression to the Semis.

Harlequins will look to their All Black import Nick Evans to produce more of the same magic that was seen a few months back when he sunk Stade Francais in the 82nd minute. Leinster, jam packed with talent and class, will be looking to convert on their promise by taking a victory from this first ever meeting of the two sides in the Heineken Cup.

It’s going to be a fantastic weekend of rugby. Enjoy.

It wouldnt have mattered if they played the best rugby they possibly could they never would have come close to munster.
43-9 is an annihilation and id say hes thanking god he didnt have a name attached to that or he would have been kicked from this site for his lack of rugby knowledge

  • being from leinster i hate to say it but i reckon its time for another raping by munster .....well if they play like they did today anyway

    By Anonymous number7, at April 12, 2009 7:20 pm

  • second time that semi-finals will be played without a french club...
These words are just a summary of ERC "gaelic" goals: Let win Munster.

When i look back on first round: Clermont, stade français or perpignan were robbed and stephen jones from Times was their first defender.
When i saw yesterday cardiff vs toulouse, and the "one way" referring from chris white, i think that french clubs should debate about their future participation in one H CUP played and directed between british friends...

By Anonymous Anonymous, at April 12, 2009 7:42 pm

  • yes i'm furious

By Anonymous Anonymous, at April 12, 2009 8:09 pm

  • does anyone know the tune for this video? :) its quite catchy.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at April 12, 2009 8:59 pm

  • why did you delete my comment RD?

I repeat it : Toulouse has been robbed by a referee whom wife is welsh. Plus, Chris White live in Cardiff. That's a shame that ERC took that man as a referee for a Hcup match with Cardiff playing. That's nothing less than coruption.

French clubs should simply boycott the Hcup which has became just a parody directed by brits who want some fun looking at their clubs winning that crappy cup. French clubs are regularly robbed by those fukin corrupted brit referees and i'm sick of that.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at April 12, 2009 9:13 pm

  • Refs don't give games away you retard and the refs would have individual bias in amongst their countries if they thought like that.

You really think a West Wales ref would help another region? Or an Englishman helping a Welsh side?

You've lost the plot and you're clutching at straws.

Why are wimpy Frenchmen always threatening to boycott things?

It used to be wars they ran away from, now it's the G20 and Rugby tournaments!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at April 12, 2009 10:04 pm

  • i must say that i'm quite agree with these last comments.
french clubs had to face somme poor referrings but that's life..

furthermore, i prefer positive teams like toulouse than munster pack performances.

It's the job og IRB to work on it

By Anonymous Anonymous, at April 12, 2009 10:38 pm

  • what the hell is the last comment on about...munster were awsome in the backline today what a 60 metre try is pack work...an around the corner pass and try not good enough warick cutting through a defence single handedly...50 metre drop goals....frankly i think you are retarded

    By Anonymous number7, at April 12, 2009 10:54 pm

  • and about the french running from wars ha you my french family were all in the military ,saw combat in the somme ,verdun, algeria and more so shove your slurs of cowardice where did you fight anonomous give a name before you insult people

    By Anonymous number7, at April 12, 2009 10:57 pm

  • What the hell is tha guy smoking about the corruption by the ERC?! Sorry, French rugby is in the toilet at the moment. Why? Because they all went insane and thought they could buy any old bunch of Kiwis and dominate. Guess what? It failed, miserably, and at the moment french rugby is a laughing stock. There is no refereeing bias; you're just not good enough. Look at Munster. The entire core of the team has been built from underage up, they get in one or two recruits to augment it but the spine is from Munster. In the french clubs, the spine is from a whole range of countries, none of whom have any emotional connection to their club. Dont mind whinging and blamin refs, accept that French rugby just isnt very good at the moment.

  • just more proof that the heineken cup is the best club comp in the world

By Anonymous Swampy, at April 13, 2009 10:44 am

  • Wow, what a great set of quarters. Three games on a knife edge and a display of total rugby from Munster, power, pace, skill, tries, dropgoals everything! Fantastic.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at April 13, 2009 12:21 pm

  • Chris White lives in Cheltenham and his wife is from Swansea, who I think are rivals with Cardiff, not sure thou.. Type him into wikipedia and there is a link to the ERC website which says it.

    So stop moaning!!

Also, most inept refereeing display of the weekend for me, Nigel Owens, consistently shite for both sides, missed a shedload of forward passes and the only one he did give stopped a try (but it was forward).

Any chance we could get the Contepomi yellow card up here, see what people think? Looked 'accidentally on-purpose' to me.

By Anonymous Slamdog Millionaire, at April 13, 2009 2:29 pm

  • Micheal if you think cardiff was better than toulouse that day so you're an ignorant. toulouse dominated the match all long and have been robbed by that crappy referee who didn't allowed a try which should have been. Look at the video.

And if you think that french clubs are all made of a bunch of old kiwis or south africans players so it shows that you're blatantly ignorant about french clubs. In toulouse team saturday there were 13 french players on the pitch. Is that what you call a team made of a bunch of old kiwis players?

In Top14 there is quite exactly the same percentage of strangers than in premiership. Learn before talkin. Toulon is an exception in top14, keep it in mind and don't think all clubs are like toulon.

You're absolutely ignorant about french rugby clubs you can't deny it and i can't blame you. but you're right about one thing:french rugby sucks these days

By Anonymous Anonymous, at April 13, 2009 3:24 pm

  • i don't know why people talk about the fact their family fought in WW1 or WW2.

    We're talking about rugby here!

YES toulouse was a bit robbed (try was also valid)
and YES french rugby clubs seem to be "exhausted and need to improve it

By Anonymous Anonymous, at April 13, 2009 4:17 pm

  • Shut up anonymous. Yeah Toulouse were unlucky. Couple of bad decisions. Blah blah blah. If you lose a game you can only blame yourself not the ref. And Toulouse are pretty much the only french team I can think of that hasnt resorted to having about a dozen mercenaries playing for them. And your stat about the Premiership?! The Premiership is a crap league. End of. The four best teams in the Celtic League would dominate both the Top 14 and the Premiership. And I can say this cos I regularly watch the Top 14 and the Premiership. So dont call me ignorant you cheeky shitebag
