Best tries of the Top 14 so far

There isn't a huge amount of rugby on this weekend, but after a busy holiday season, RD will be getting back on track over the next few weeks as we bring you all the best action of the Six Nations and Super 14.

Today we've got a Top 14 clip though, featuring the best tries from the tournament so far.

Many of you may have already seen some of the tries featured here already, as part of the weekly best of compilations, but this video shows some of the best of the best from the action in France.

They're all worth watching again, and I'm sure you'll have your favourites. The order they're listed in, as chosen by Canal+, may be debatable, but in general it's a great recap of ten excellent tries.

Enjoy the clip, and the rest of the weekend.

  • now only if the British commentators put half the effort that these commentators do then it would bring more excitement into watching the games on the tele!

  • no.7 was definitely the best

  • For a side who have struggled for most of the season to score tries, Brive are incredibly well represented in this countdown and great tries they are too (though I accept that the Waqaseduadua try exploited some weak defending).

You'd think that Brive were top of the league and a free flowing side judging by this video! Nonetheless they have improved a lot recently, a great deal of which is due to the decision to put Fabrice Estebanez at fly-half where he has excelled and been rewarded with a place in the French squad. I don't expect to see him in the starting line-up but you never know!

  • Awesome tries, the T14 is the best NH club competition.
How good was the commentator for try number 3.

  • these french top 10s are never in order. But they are usually a v good collection of tries.
And yes, commentators really givin it socks. More like radio commentators.

  • great choices overall but i have two little problems :

-first, Joe Van Niekerk's try after Johnny's chip and Lovoabalu's inside pass should definatly be better ranked !!!

secondly, bastareaud's #6 try has NOTHING to do in this top 10: he just runs and nobody stops him :@

  • Great entertaining compilation : )

i think collective tries are more rewarded than individual which is fair.

N°1 is a truly collective try : see that 4 or 5 players touch the ball, and each one of them has to make a difficult pass immediatly (skills + insight), considering clermont is defending really hard (their is still someone at the end of the line to tackle despite the lightning fast attack), I would say this try deserves its place.

  • Man alive, great tries. You know what? I don't think I've seen a single GP try that would get into that Top 10. The Top 14 is embarrassingly better than the English competition...

  • luxi,
Bastareaud's try is here because of the power he shows in this action. 5 players are trying to stop him, particularly Barcella, Traille and Thion who are french international, and good defenders!

I'm happy to see bastareaud back for France in the 6N, he is certainly the french young player with the biggest potential, but I think some supporters will boo him like it happens at the top14 beginning...

can't wait for the 6N start!

  • I'll boooo Bastardo as long as I'll have enough voice to.

I'll never forget how he lied in NZ and put the shame on France and still never explained what happened.

    By Anonymous 4LC4TR4Z, at February 01, 2010 5:36 pm

  • alcatraz, you will boo a man without explanations?

He gave no explanations because someone tell him not to say what happens. Because the truth is certainly bad for the french team. He lied, but maybe he can't do otherwise, and for sure other people are involved in this affair. Now he is paying his mistake and it's over. it's sad because he is not the only one to be guilty.

That's guys like you who are a shame. Get a life man and try to think to something else, the Bastareaud's story obviously is breaking your nerves. Nobody cares anymore about this stupid lie, only a few morons like you.
