Best tries of the Top 14 - Round 3
Top 14 matches took place midweek this week, and there will be more on Sunday, but here is a recap of the best tries from round 3 of the tournament in France. There's a few questionable ones, but one or two great pieces of skill, including a great hit on the final try.
This weekend is set to be manic as the Aviva (formerly Guinness) Premiership kicks off in England tonight, as does the Magners League with teams from Wales, Scotland, and Ireland going head to head.
That's just the Northern Hemisphere. Down South there is the ITM Cup of New Zealand, the Currie Cup in South Africa, and of course the Tri Nations as South Africa and Australia do battle once again in the Republic, to see who will take home the Mandela Plate.
I'll attempt to get the Fixtures list up to date, although it's not likely before tonight - apologies for that. Make sure you watch your favourites teams in action though, and if you can, try watch a game from another hemisphere even. You may be pleasantly surprised.
Whatever you manage to watch, please try get involved with Rugbydump by getting in touch whenever you see something you think should be shared on the site. Make a note of the times, send in details, and RD will attempt to do the rest.
Enjoy Round three's Top 14 tries, a week that saw the number 1 try going to an American player which is quite a nice little achievement for him and rugby in that country. Also check out Marc Andreus neat footwork for his try, and Toulouse's length of the field effort.

Nice feet by Marc Andreu to control that ball...Also Trinh-Duc! You think he's gonna get monstered and that's as if nobody tried to tackle him...

Swiryn and Trinh-Duc's tries are awesome!
Wonder why Vincent Clerc's effort didn't make it though?
By Anonymous, at September 03, 2010 4:43 pm
Wow, I thought Trinh-Duc played flyhalf! You wouldn't say that from the way he scored that try ...
No.1 is an absolute gem! Was that Balshaw that gave the hospital pass?

that no.1 was really something!

no.9? Looks like a defence caught napping rather than a well worked try. Excellent stuff for No.1 though, great vision from the fly half

nr.9: the highest thing ever achieved by a belgian rugby player!:p Well If you don't take Jacques Rogge into account that is.

that jean jo try is absolutely mesmerising. love that little pop pass to set up the try. marc andreu. what can i say. your a freak buddy

Try scorer in no. 1 reminds me of The Hoff.

what ball control by Andreu
didn't expect a show of strength from Trin Duc like that.
that number 1 try uses every skill in the game I think
By Crosser, at September 03, 2010 10:33 pm
As a child Andreu started sport as a soccer player...... Somehow... it shows

That last try just reaffirmed to me why I prefer rugby over league. I love how the field of play gets so chopped up and all the formations of each side fall apart. That try couldn't be scored in a league match and it was magnificent.
By Spaz, at September 04, 2010 12:53 am
Yeah thats right spaz, that try would never get scored in League because a League team wouldn't turn the ball over twice in 10 seconds and can actually tackle.
By Big Spaz, at September 04, 2010 5:17 am
Andreu actually trained first to be a football player (played with Arsenal player Chamakh), as you can quite see on try n2.
Great skills on 1 & 2, amazing play from Trinh Duc, a few other tries that needn't make the cut.

@Big Spaz try being a cowboys fan and then tell me about league's amazing tackling. I love the cowboys but they are absolute muppets at times. Also that try could happen in league but it would have to be offloads to create the 2nd phase stuff.

Wow rly amazing tries this week.
By D0m3, at September 04, 2010 1:02 pm
One question, wasn't Trinh Duc that scored that try against the All Blacks where he breaks like 4 or 5 tackles?
If so, he really is a freakish monster of a man
By Xavier, at September 04, 2010 9:22 pm
Xavier > Exactly

1. Trin Duc is a freak and France should keep picking him when he is fit.
2. Is Jean-Jo a French version of Billy Bob?
3. Go Clermont!!!
