Friday Funnies - The Brumbies show off their skills at training
Following the All Blacks tricks & skills at training video that was somewhat of a viral success, the Brumbies haven’t missed a trick, so to speak, as they’ve come up with a video of their own, showing exactly what they’re capable of. Check this out.
The All Blacks video spread rapidly across the internet as everyone wanted to see the incredible tricks they pulled off in training. While most were of the opinion that the stuff they performed could actually be done, this video from the Brumbies puts everything into perspective.
Their parody response features Josh Valentine, Adam Ashley-Cooper, and Tyrone Smith as they take up the roles of Piri Weepu, Cory Jane, and Rene Ranger respectively.
After having it sent to him from Ashley-Cooper on Twitter, Weepu tweeted earlier today 'Hahaha that's better then ours cuz'. Quade Cooper said 'Ahhhhhhh hahah that's so good bra!!' - bra being brother, not to be confused with what Derren Witcombe was wearing in 2004.
Ashley-Cooper, at times referred to as Two Dads, later said 'Us Aussies try bro... But in all honesty, Tyrone was terrible! Sorry about him...'
You can keep up with the banter by following them on Twitter. Cory Jane is @CoryJane1080, Piri Weepu is @Powza13, Adam Ashley-Cooper is @AdamCoopy, and Quade Cooper is @QuadeCooper.
Tweeting aside, it’s a hilarious riposte to a video and one that fits perfectly into the Friday Funnies slot here on RD. Hopefully Valentine’s foot heals nicely.

Thank you Brumbies!!
Hilarious stuff!

I also prefer that over the faked sh*t... no one ever believed the "original" was no fake.
this is much funnier
By Anonymous, at October 01, 2010 1:04 pm
lol thats classic!
Just to get it out of the way early in the hope it prevents the negative comments. THIS IS DONE IN GOOD HUMOR, AND SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY BY DIEHEARD ALL BLACKS FANS… that is all.
By MD, at October 01, 2010 1:07 pm
^^
that all depends on what you consider fake. obviously the original wasn't done in one take but neither will metallica, the pussycat dolls (or whatever band you like) on their next album. generally box-office movies arn't shot in one take either. That doen't make it less entertaining though, so why dwell on it?!
By dutchrugbyplayer, at October 01, 2010 1:10 pm
That is quality, a vast improvement on the original. That guy must have hurt his foot when he booted the table though.
By Phil, at October 01, 2010 1:16 pm
^ come on dutchrugbyplayer don't drop this into boring debate. Embrace the hilarity on this vid!

I think you'll find most kiwis would love this video too! Definately better than the AB's one...haha.
By thomnz, at October 01, 2010 1:30 pm
We tried some of this stuff at training last night. I managed the catch behind my back at the first attempt and am never attempting it again, as I can currently claim to have never failed it!

this is sad a mockery of the fine skill that my beloved men in black have. innept skills and vastly inferior inteligence. god save the queen

If that's not meant to be sarcastic...Cory Jane did admit it was faked and took several attempts lol.
AAC was pretty close with his first kick :)

This is hillarious, had me crying with laughter.
"In the game i like to be amazing."
By t0m0, at October 01, 2010 2:07 pm
Good stuff;laughing at themselves more than anyone else. Highly recommend following these blokes on Twitter, they pay out on each other constantly. The funniest however, is @BRICK_WITH_EYES (Patricio Noriego)scrum coach, who likes to comment on the tweets made by the players.

hahaha, an instant classic
By Ben, at October 01, 2010 2:25 pm
very funny!
By Anonymous, at October 01, 2010 2:58 pm
You wouldn't laugh as hard at this, though, if you hadn't seen the All Black one. Good satire is nothing without the original source!
By Rob, at October 01, 2010 3:51 pm
absolutley hilarious,lmao!
By Leeners93, at October 01, 2010 3:54 pm
haters gon hate lol
By Dinkum, at October 01, 2010 4:57 pm
hahaha gotta have a good laugh at that
By Joe, at October 01, 2010 6:15 pm
dutchrugbyplayer and any1 else who thought the all black vid was in any way real
if anyone thinks that the all black vid was in anyway real is downright stupid! it didnt take them loads of takes either...its just trick photography....same trick photography used in the nfl "pick me" videos!
this brumbie vid is sooo funny too
By cheesefries, at October 01, 2010 7:49 pm
Haha that's awesome ! AAC is so funny
By Anonymous, at October 01, 2010 11:30 pm
Even as a kiwi supporter I must admit this was funny.
Good stuff!
By Craig, at October 01, 2010 11:31 pm
Jeez... I just can't stop laughing...
By Maximus, at October 01, 2010 11:35 pm
Adam Ashley-Cooper's nickname of 'Two Dads' is gold!
By sacricketer, at October 02, 2010 1:20 am
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. A wonderful antidote to that saccharin falsified trash those AB players allowed themselves to be talked (paid) into doing.
Or am I being sucked into Phase 2 of the same campaign? If that is the case, hats off to those marketers. And that is probably the more likely isn't it. Much as though I want to believe this video is made by a group of players/mates having a laugh, I sense an external influence.
By Von, at October 02, 2010 2:27 am
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. Now more than ever I stand by my point that decent rugby players can pull this off with practice and an inordinate amount of takes.
By EARugbyFan, at October 02, 2010 3:03 am
Funny stuff. Nobody thought the ABs one was real, it was a laugh, so dickheads might as well stop going on about it. It's all about having a bit of fun, the NZ one and the Oz one.
By mooloo, at October 02, 2010 5:01 am
lol Love it!

Cory Jane, check this out...
By Unknown, at October 02, 2010 3:47 pm
has anyone realized that's not quade-cooper, firstly it looks nothing like him and secondly he plays for the reds.
By Anonymous, at October 02, 2010 7:57 pm
^ Yes, Anonymous, everybody realises that. Nobody said it was Quade Cooper.
Such a funny clip. Watched it loads of times now
By Flinto, at October 02, 2010 9:11 pm
hahaha that was funny. I'm a kiwi fan and think this piss take is funny as. Nothing wrong with a bit of humour.
By Anonymous, at October 03, 2010 11:35 pm
the difference between the two videos is the All Blacks have the skill to do these tricks.the Brumbies....not so much.should just stick to the basics I think and they might win some games.
By Anonymous, at October 04, 2010 7:00 pm
Ha, you ididot, only a retard would think the All Blacks actually did any of that stuff, it was obviously trick photography.
Thios is funny as hell though, good Aussie sense of humour, always taking the piss out of themselves and the kiwis.
By Jono, at October 05, 2010 1:24 am
AWESOME humor. Good on the Brumbies. Love this stuff!
By Tony Hart, at October 06, 2010 2:31 am
that was the funniest alright, totally what i expect from the brumbies skill level, and imagination level too.
even i can do the last set of passing tricks and im a chick. all it took was a bit of practise at the beach one arvo with a mate that can pass really really well.
By rachel, at October 13, 2010 4:57 am
Yeah sure Rachel, you have better skills than proffesional rugby players.
Good one genius.
By Tom, at February 08, 2011 11:06 pm
As a kiwi i love the AB'S one but this is soooo funny i love our friendly competitiveness it just makes the game :-)
By Anonymous, at February 10, 2011 6:15 am
me and my mates can do all those tricks except for the last cory jane kick
