O2 Inside Line - Episode 7 - England vs Italy preview

It's time to catch up with the O2 Inside Line show again, as this week Danny Care gets behind the camera to take you behind the scenes in the England camp ahead of their game with Italy. There's also a cook-off between Toby Flood and Dan Cole.

After a strong performance by Italy against Ireland last weekend, this weekend's game at Twickenham could prove to be a decent test for the home side, who picked up a good win over Wales in the opening game.

There's a few tweaks that need to take place to make England a far stronger side though, and if they get that right, Italy and Sergio Parisse may just find themselves up against a challenge that they're simply not equipped to handle.

It should be fascinating nonetheless as Italy, the perennial underdogs, seem to be building nicely and have shown that they can mix it up with the best of them on their day. England will be more than aware of that, and preparations this week will have been no laughing matter.

That said, in this video we go behind the scenes and see some of the stuff they get up to in their off time. There's a cook-off for Austin Healey, some heads comparisons, and a prop with a tan.

To get the inside scoop on the squad, as well as fun features, match analysis and up to the minute player interviews with presenters Austin Healey and Abi Griffiths, sign up for alerts and watch O2 Inside Line on RFU TV at O2InsideLine.com

  • austin healey pickin haskell out as bein a standout player last week? hes possibly the worst back row in the championship... after nick easter.

furthermore why is RD favouring english rugby so much these days? huge build-up to last weeks match which was poor, especially compared to the france-sotland match. scotland v wales and ireland v france matches will be far more exciting

  • If you think Haskell was poor, i dont think you watched the game mate. He had some powerful carries and made his tackles, but he did give a away stupid penalty.
    Wales could use him

  • Gotta love Chris Ashton and never noticed how big Cueto's head is. Dan Cole seems to nice to be an International prop, hopefully he does a number on Castro tomorrow

  • @ bergemasco said...

RD aren't favouring England, it's just England have got their act together and can put videos out like this. Quality banter with Ashton.

(From a Wales fan who wishes the WRFU would do stuff like this).

  • Cueto does have a massive head...great quote!

  • Chris Ashton is quickly establishing himself as the John Bentley of this England squad. Awesome winger and leading the banter in thoroughly northern style.

Bit harsh taking the p155 out of Cueto for lack of tries, especially after Cueto gave the scoring pass for Ashton to trot in from five yards for his second the other night. Seems to take it in good spirit though!

On a different note, I see Sheridan's out with a dodgy back, with young Corbisiero coming into the side. Bit of a baptism of fire for him, but he looks really classy and I reckon he'll handle it well.

  • "Never step out of your line."

Tell that to the likes of Brian O'Driscoll, Will Genia, Bryan Habana and Jean de Villiers. The thing about it is timing. Hape rushed up too late and hesitated as well. Plus, there was no overlap, so there was no real reason to rush up...I guess that's a better way to put it, "Don't step out of your line unless there's an overlap or you're certain of an interception."

  • they're jumping on the swanny's ashes diary bandwagon. which is all good, love seeing the guys banter.

otherwise, parisse isn't the best player in the world, haskell was ok but not amazing, and flood and cole cannot cook for shit.
