Best tries of the Top 14 - Round 8
It's been a quiet week here on Rugbydump so we're getting back into the swing of things now, with the Best Tries from round 8 of the Top 14.
Perpignan were convincing as they easily beat Clermont 19-3, collecting a bonus point in the process. Gerrie Britz, Jean-Philippe Grandclaude, and Julien Candelon all scored excellent tries that came from nice interchanges initially.
Racing Metro ended their four match losing streak when they beat Montpelier 18-14 at the Stade Yves Du Manoir. Julien Thomas scored an early try for the visitors, but a powerful charge by Sebastien Chabal and some accurate goal kicking by Andrew Mehrtens was enough for the win.
Toulon made eleven changes ahead of their meeting with Biarritz, and it proved costly as they were beaten 23-9 at the Parc des Sports d'Aguilera. Tries were scored for Biarritz by Benedict August, Imanol Harinordoquy, and Dimitri Yachvili.
Albi picked up their first win of the season by beating Bayonne 19-14 in front of a vocal crowd at the Stadium Municipal d'Albi. Craig Gower's classy run allowed Jean-Baptiste Peyras to score what was probably the best try of the match.
Vincent Forgues finished off a quality try for Castres when they played Brive in a fairly dull 11-9 win for Brive. The move swept the width of the field twice before the flanker sprinted home.

How can Perpignan have picked up a bonus point with 19 points? :S The minimum you can get from 4 tries is 20 points...
By Fred, at October 08, 2009 5:54 pm
in France it's 3 tries and you get a bonus point, that's rhe rules

Nice to see the big forwards getting on the scoresheet.

ybr, if you must know, I happen to have a family. Real life takes over sometimes. It's been a slow week for RD, but you'll get over it when things get back to normal and I post at least once a day again.
Thanks for the patience everyone else who has refrained from complaining since monday.

RD - Great to see you back. Do what you can to ignore ignorant pricks like ybr.
Keep up the excellent work.

Dear RD,
you're doing a great job on this site. so please go on and don't mind about complaints.
Good to see a family comes first.

ybr was just asking a question and you treat him like that? i know personal stuff can take its toll sometimes but RD m8 take it easy man cos this is how you scare ppl away from a website and just a suggestion if thing do get out of hand try and ask a friend to help.

@ JuiCe - fair enough. Let's all try keep things on topic though. Too much time is wasted moderating comments lately.

RD - This is the only site of it's kind on the net and clearly everyone here loves it! I'm sure that guy is just a YUM!
Incidentally, I think you meant Vincent Forgues scored for BRIVE against Castres.

It looks like Marc Andreu is a huge loss to Toulon. He seems to be scoring often, and looks like he has incredible acceleration!
Some nice tries, although not as good as the week previously I think.
thanks though - love seeing them regardless.

I waiting for your choice for the next top 10 : the best of of the season.

just OPINION, ( i can't get shot down for that) but i'd say no.3 is the best due to the dummy and great sidestep, not meaning to take any glory from the others. Just see 3 as a brilliant individual try

why cant commentaters in the magners league be as intresting as the french ones lol. they would make the weather sound intrestingXD
By creggs08, at October 08, 2009 9:37 pm
that last one is awesome, its got the forwards working going straight and then good handling to see the winger off in the corner
how it should b played

Fred, in France the bonus point is win when the team has 3 tries more than his opponent.
(3 tries Perpignan and Clermont 0 then bonus.)
Else 4 - 1 ; 5 - 2 ; ...
Sorry for my bad english langage.
