Biarritz power through Glasgow to get home quarter final
In another recap of Heineken Cup action from last weekend, Biarritz secured a home tie for the quarter finals after they convincingly beat the Glasgow Warriors 41-20.
The Scottish side actually led 20-11 at one stage, scoring some great tries, but a powerful performance from Biarritz in the second half blew them away.
They scored 30 unanswered points and picked up the vital bonus point within the last minute of the match, thus guaranteeing themselves a home match in the last eight.
One of the team tries of the season though came from Glasgow, as Chris Cusiter crossed the line following a series of quality interchanges in a move that was started way back in their own 22 by Bernard Stortoni.
Zee Ngwenya scored a pretty good try for Biarritz too, skinning his man on the outside, reminiscent of his try against Samoa in the 2007 World Cup.
Biarritz will host Ospreys in the quarter final when the tournament continues in a few months.

Did the ref give the penalty try because the blue #8 unbound?

NGwenya is lighting quick. Evans looked very sharp too!

yeah i thought the same the scrum had stopped moving forward and was still up, sure the no.8 comes off, looking at the scrum half perhaps he thought it was out, but that is never a penalty try.
perhaps the ref should have a two week ban and 25000 fine.

Looked like a pretty exciting game, wish I could've seen the whole thing. Last few games from Magners have been lots of penalty goals and no tries.

"A throw forward occurs when a player throws or passes the ball forward.
‘Forward’ means towards the opposing team’s dead ball line."
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
That is the IRB rule on forward passes....nothing more, nothing less. It is pretty simple.

Great tries, looked like a good game.
I know this isn't the place for requests but are there any 6N previews knocking about?

Looked like a great match to watch. What a difference between how Biarritz perform in their domestic cup and in the Heineken Cup.
@Anon above, check out planetrugby.com. They've got previews up for the 6N.

The onslaught only came when Lineen decided to substitute off his best players. The entire front row were taken off leading to a demolition in the scrum.
NGwenya's try was good but if any other winger other than O'Hare was marking him he would have been put down.
The Evans' are looking good at the moment, Thom is on great form and Max is returning to his best following his knee injury.
Until the substitutions Glasgow were very competitive and it looked like a good game but unfortunately the team's strength in depth couldn't match Biaritz.

Everyone tacks Ngwenya up against his performance in the 2007 World Cup - which, don't get me wrong, was great. But he's played very well for Biarritz ever since then. He has been in the list of top try scorers (not number 1, though) for the past 3 seasons.
Too bad we can't really get a good team behind him here in the US...a fast winger alone doesn't make a good rugby team. We've got good individual players (Todd Clever is one of the few foreigners playing for a SA side in the S14 and Currie Cup), but let's face it, Canada is even better than us (that's not a dig at Canada, either).

Cheers Sea-Bass.
Predictions for the 6N...
It's always hard to predict, even after 2 or 3 weekends!
France have the ability to beat any team in it but I reckon Wales might beat them in Cardiff.
Ireland have to travel to Paris and London, Paris will be an enormous test of the teams mettle, all I pray for is a game as good as the reverse fixture last year! and for Ireland to win again.
Can Scotland rock France in Murrayfield? Australia wasn't so long ago...
Italy v Scotland - war of attrition.
I have no idea what England are going to do? They have the honour of hosting both Wales and Ireland.
I can't pick a winner straight out, hope it's Ireland though.

NGwenya's try was weak, lack of commitment to the tackle, but good players make you miss. The second Glasgow try was brilliant.

It was South Africa that Ngwenya scored against in WC07, not Samoa. He beat Habana and Nigel Starmer-Smith rightly described it as the try of the tournament.

Some cracking tries in that game in rubbish conditions as well.
Who says NH rugby is boring!
