Prop Rhys Thomas scores then celebrates like a back

Scarlets gave fellow Magners League basement side Connacht a nine-try hammering on the weekend as they beat them 58-10 at Parc y Scarlets, with prop Rhys Thomas scoring two tries.

The second of his two tries was requested to be featured here, not only because of the neat crosskick and perfectly executed inside flick, but because his celebration would do most Fijian wings proud.

Perhaps he was watching Rupeni Caucau score two on RD last week and felt inspired to bring back some of the classic hand gestures. By the look of things he's been practising that for some time and finally got the chance to unleash it on the public.

Whatever the case, it was a good try with a nice finish and while it’s certainly not the best prop try we’ve seen, it was a pretty decent all round effort from each player involved.

Connacht had actually fielded a weakened side, but the result was still pretty convincing and gave Scarlets their biggest Magners League win since 2007.

  • I think his hand gestures meant; "that's why i didn't run anywhere after the scrum"

  • Is he that prick who dived into Shane Horgan's face with his shoulder when Horgan was defenceless on the ground, and then got away scot-free? If so, then this is merely further proof that he's unfit for society.

  • Well shit...can Connacht still finish above Ulster, or is that chance gone?

Oh, and as for Rhys Thomas...he looks like a fat Ali G as a third base coach in baseball.

  • Useless waste of money he was for the scarlets.
£180,000 a year and hes been injured/banned for most of the season.
Good win but the scarlets cant be pleased with their season.

I'm a Kiwi and it's obvious to me this isn't a racist comment, just a silly remark. Being ridiculously over sensitive doesn't help anybody, save your anger for real racists.

  • Why do people constantly refer to 'Connaught' when the name is written 'Connacht'?

Well, when I say 'constantly', I mean on the rare occasions that they are mentioned at all :)

By Blogger Unknown, at April 29, 2010 4:15 pm

  • I dunno, "Connaught" was the old spelling, right? So maybe Brits got used to spelling it that way?

  • Well talk about people jumping on the band wagon, I dont think Rhys did much wrong here not as if it was a huge celebration obviosly a little private joke amongst his team mates people grow up.

Rhys is actually a real nice bloke a little wild maybe but hey is that the biggest crime in the world.

    Great try Rhys
