The Rugby Club Plays of the Week - Your letters answered
The reach of the Plays of the Week stretches far and wide these days, due in large part to the internet, the quality of the clips, and the fact that they usually show skimpily dressed girls shaking inappropriately.
This week is no different as the team at Fox Sports, headed by Sean Maloney, bring us the best of the weekend’s action from down south.
Your questions are answered as the Australian Rugby Club’s mailbag was chock-a-block with letters from all over the place, asking the kind of things that we’ve all been obsessing about for the past week or so.
What to expect? Girls, big hits, great tries, women, the All Blacks, the human speedbump, John Smit down on his knees, and a strange Counties fan in a very disturbing mask. That’s a whole lot of action squeezed into two minutes of plays.
This one is hilarious, and all that's missing now is a question from yours truly. Reckon you can you sneak the word Rugbydump on there next time, Sean?
Enjoy the video, and keep those requests coming in for videos you'd like featured here on RD.

I think it's bang out of order the way they portray women on that show. Rugby is supposed to be a gentleman's sport but you wouldn't guess from that clip.

Great show, poor old smitty!
@anonymous:
they're cheerleaders, not nuns.
By speckledjim, at August 26, 2010 8:19 pm
Human speedbump?!?!
Isn't that John Smit's real name??

By Resident Troll, at August 26, 2010 8:26 pm
yeah i agree with anonymous, theys hould show a bit more of the womens world cup as well
By rosh, at August 26, 2010 8:44 pm
Rosh and Anon above,
very gentlemanly of you to feel that way and in a way I agree; rugby and porn don't mix but they did give credit to a Walaroo for the hit of the week and given the abuse I've read in the comments section of the rwcwomens.com video on RD recently, that's a better effort that many people here are putting in.
What a hit, by the way, it reminded me of that Umaga hit for the Hurricanes that's been featured on its own and in a TSRB video: nice, high and fair in the... gentlemanly sense of the word.

regarding the cheerleaders:
...yeah, because ruggers aren't among the dirtiest, raunchiest people around. what do you play for BYU or something (terrific rugby team still though)?

Disrespectful to women? They're bloody cheerleaders you idiots.
They intentionally get dressed up like that, they know guys are checking them out, they obviously don't mind, shit it even looks like they just might enjoy the attention.
Some people will complain about anything.

"I think it's bang out of order the way they portray women on that show."
How do they portray them? They showed a few seconds of some cheerleading clips.
The fact that the girls audition, train and get paid for it, that it is part of the entertainment, that camera men/women are paid to film them, that the whole crowd can watch them live you don't have a problem with. But a few seconds on a highlight clip, thats just bang out of order.

By Anonymous, at August 27, 2010 3:33 am
I'm pretty sure that's not what people are talking about when they use the word respect
By Anonymous, at August 27, 2010 3:46 am
Hey Rosh and Anon, grow a pair and wake up to yourselves.
By Anonymous, at August 27, 2010 4:11 am
Hey, mister plays, is NZed ever going to run out of amazing wings?

The try of the week has surely become a an exercise in irony, and a bit of fun at the expense of the kiwis right?
Those Shute Shield tries are nowhere near the standard of the 'runners up' from the NPC, yet they keep picking up the prize.
Australia desperately needs a better quality domestic comp.
By jrsONE, at August 27, 2010 5:42 am
you've gotta love the rugby club's plays of the week !!! :D

By Luxi, at August 27, 2010 5:24 pm
