Lawrence Dallaglio answers your questions
Last week we asked you to submit your questions for World Cup winner Lawrence Dallaglio via the Rugbydump Facebook Page. There were some good ones, so earlier this week Nick sat down with him in a pub in London for a chat.
A staunch Wasps man, it would have been difficult to chat to Dallaglio without asking him about the side he played over 15 years of rugby for. He's naturally frustrated with them being mid-table, but made it clear that coaching is not something he's looking to get into to help.
He touched on professionalism and the salary cap, and how that affects clubs and players in this age where physicality is such an integral part of the sport. Another interesting question was about the sin bin, and if ten minutes is enough of a deterrent for players with itchy fingers.
All in all, he says rugby is on a good place. "I think the product on display is good. The rule changes we've seen in the last twelve months have made a massive difference. Much less kicking, and it seems to be quite an exciting game again," Dallaglio said.
He also tells us why it's not a good idea to go out drinking with Jason Leonard.
Lawrence Dallaglio is rugby ambassador for Greene King IPA, the Official Beer of England Rugby. Enjoy a proper pint at your nearest Greene King IPA Official England Rugby Supporter Pub by visiting www.greenekingipa.co.uk

Not a big fan of the guy on the pitch, but he seems decent enough in front of beer. Wouldn't mind having one with him to get the off the record stories...

as said previously, not a great fan of the player on the pitch: a great and charismatic fighter but always cheating in rucks, he even reckoned it himself several times
but the guy has very interesting arguments on actual rugby

me personaly thinks that its good to have one of those forwards that does abit of good honest cheating now and again, I liked how he did that for England, however I can see if a player like him did that against England id b annoyed...oh well, swings n round abouts.
great interview RD, good to hear what some of the older generation thinks about the ever changing game its self!

Good stuff RD. And a brilliant interview.

Good interview, i'd imagine his story about a 'prank' was limited due to him not wanting to implicate anyone....
...Has some good points about the game..
Does anyone know if these retired players ever continue at a club level, like a local club... i know will greenwood had that game a while ago but is that regular or do these guys quit altogether?
I mean dallaglio is 38 years old...he could easily walk into a first team at a club, and if he didnt want to he could play 2nds...or does it get to a point where they dont want the commitment of the 1st team, but they are too good for the opposition if he played 2nd team?!

Jason Leonard sounds like an absolute hero. I'd love to hear more about his antics.
