Friday Funnies - Austin Healey 'Never been beaten'

We came across this quite amusing vid of ex Leicester Tigers and England international Austin Healey showing himself to be quite the character once again.

While many find his antics irritating, obnoxious and arrogant, there's no doubting that he's a funny guy, and he's respected enough to now be considered a serious rugby pundit with the BBC.

We don't know much about this clip, and the quality isn't great, but its pretty funny anyway.

It's not every day you walk up to a former international rugby player and ask to arm wrestle, but these guys did it, with the smug Healey being more than ready for the challenge, with the aim of earning 12 pints in mind.

hes arrogant but you rarely see him come undone so i guess its justified! love the guy in the background making dawson comments haha!

RD, do you know where we can get links for the sevens world cup? cant seem to find it anywhere, n im hearing about all of varndells tries yet cant see them anywhere! cheers

I think this was at Bournemouth Sevens festival 2008. Also he has explained the technique for this. He grabs your thumb and twist it. I think he explains it in some rugby world cup 2007 video he did.

I'm not English but I've gotta say I find Austin Healy really entertaining. Rugby would be for the worse without characters like him.

The price you pay for being someone like Healey, is that you get every drunk prick coming-up to you and trying their luck.

Now that's got to be a downside of being a well-known sportsman.

I bet he's probs actually quite a nice guy one one one. No point judging him on this piss take night out. He's done a great job with the whole getting disadvantaged and unemployed guys to play rugby thing. Saw it on sky sports. WHat a game!!!!
RD get England new zealand final of new zealand sevens up, and wanna see some super 14 hits. Tries are awesome, but ya gotta get those hits up boys!!

fact is he is was an awesome player with a a huge gob - i.e. he's a million times better pundit than eddie butler, brian moore, guscott, or davies.

I'm hoping he'll get involved in coaching soon.

PS RD, great work but like a lot of the others, can't wait to see Varndell's sevens antics on here!

I thinks he's alright, cracks me up sometimes. Nothing wrong with arrogance, it's often the difference between sportsmen and great sportsmen. He absolutely destroyed that guy in the arm wrestle.

you can keep calling him an arrogant prick, but the fact is he backs it up with quality performances, not just in rugby, as proven on this video, and the football cross bar challenge video. he is very confident in his ability, and so he should be.

the only reason people hate him is because they can't stand how much better he is at life than them.
