Rugby Club Super 14 Plays of the Month - March & April 2010
The Super 14 is nearing it's final stages as the race for home semis intensifies. There’s been some incredible action over the past few months, so today we've got the Plays of the Month, from the Australian Rugby Club, for both March and April.
In March the Reds began their climb up the ladder as they came to form despite losing injured lock James Horwill. Up stepped young Will Genia, who combined with playmaker Quade Cooper, has been at the forefront of their success so far.
So as to be expected, being a top performing Aussie side, they’re featured prominently in both clips. They’re currently 4th on the log, with the Waratahs and Brumbies not too far behind.
The Waratahs themselves produced two of the biggest hits in March, with Will Caldwell and Rob Horn both making huge tackles, while Rene Ranger for the Blues smoked Christian Lealiifano. Benson Stanley is also there, doing what we’ve come to expect from him in the midfield.
April provided a few big upsets, as well as some poor goal kicking and a smattering of bizarre incidents. The tries over the past two months were superb though, as the standard of the attacking play was outstanding with top quality tries being scored each weekend.
There’s always the few naysayers who like to question the defence, but when the ball’s being shifted as fast and offloaded as accurately as it is, it makes it pretty damn difficult to defend against for 80 minutes.
Great tries, good looking girls, and plenty of entertainment as usual in this double dose of the Super 14 Plays of the Month. Kick back, relax, and enjoy the razzle dazzle.

0:15 of the March video.
I don't what is more ridiculous, his gut or
-- his tan lines -- looks like he wore a "Bro" or "Manzier" to the beach

Hahaha gotta love the Aussie sarcasm!
Great videos, even without the "Percy of the Week" award!

the bit right at the end where the cheerleader rips off her trousers...nearly fainted.

The ball movement in that last Reds try was ridiculous!

"If he fell over he wouldn't need a doctor he'd need a midwife." Love it.

He's not fast...look how Vainikolo catches up to him with ease. sick vids though
By uhbluh, at May 04, 2010 2:13 am
wow @ Steyn's delicate flick to van der heever
By Anonymous, at May 04, 2010 4:16 am
Yea Vainikolo is far quicker than that bulls winger, the bulls kid is a more rounded player though... Fetu has done some great stuff this year though.... Good to see him back in form getting involved!
By Tui, at May 04, 2010 4:22 am
What?? Vainikolo didn't catch him at all, that's why he scored the try.
He outpaced the whole team.
What are you smoking ubluh??

Well I really enjoy seeing the Super 14. The flick by Steyn, the speed by Van der Heever, the handling from the reds, the tackling by Rene Ranger... And the smokin' hot cheerleaders (the trousers - ripping caught me by surprise)
Way more entertaining than any other cometition, in my humble opinion.
The reds will win this year's title... And The new Australia back line will be Genia - Cooper - Giteau
Anybody wanna bet?

Don't know about that joost, the Stormers and Bulls look like they are gonna wrap up the two home semi spots, and those two teams are damn hard to beat at home. It wouldn't surprise me if we get an all-Saffer grand final.
The Reds are in serious trouble in terms of injuries, their top four second rowers are out injured, as is one of their two starting props.
They might struggle to bring it home, especially with the Tahs, Brumbies and Hurricanes breathing down their necks.
We'll see.
As to the Aussies, I think Gitaeu will keep his five-eight spot, with Cooper at inside centre, but the way Australia plays, those two positions are cloes to interchangable.
Genia will definatley be scrum half.

why cant we have cheerleaders in the UK :(
or perhaps just those cheerleaders :)
By Anonymous, at May 04, 2010 9:36 am
Van der heever holds the u18 hurdles record or something so yeah he is fast but I doubt as fast as habana is/was in his prime.
By Anonymous, at May 04, 2010 9:42 am
^u18 in south africa I mean

"What?? Vainikolo didn't catch him at all, that's why he scored the try."
You can clearly see Vainikolo catching up pretty quickly.
By Anonymous, at May 04, 2010 12:38 pm
^the kid had a good distance away from him and was slowing down near the tryline
By Anonymous, at May 04, 2010 1:02 pm
vainikolo was catching him but that's clearly because he was just running fast enough to make the line. easing off, if you like.

..... because they're not quite so sexy when they're wearing coats.

They'll just have to move around a bit more to keep warm!
By Nathan, at May 04, 2010 6:31 pm
^They'll simply need bigger forearms to practise coat ripping.
Loved the Reds quick hands and Steyn's flick by the way.
By Maximus, at May 04, 2010 6:59 pm
Steyns flick pass to the 14 was my favourite try - brilliant stuff!

cheerleaders have no place in Rugby Union. it's demeaning to the sport. doesn't happen up north i can tell ya
By Unknown, at May 27, 2010 11:26 am
Absolute rubbish David Sean. What do you call the girls that stand there half naked while the players run on the field? What difference is that to having a few girls run around entertaining the crowd?
Very old fashioned views you've got there, imo. You don't have to like them, but I dont see how it's demeaning to rugby union.
