O2 Inside Line - Episode 9

England host Scotland at Twickenham tomorrow in what could be a tricky game for the hosts, as Andy Robinson and his troops will be aiming to derail the sweet chariot. It's time to catch up with the squad, with O2 Inside Line.

Austin Healey and Abi Griffiths bring us another look inside the England camp as spirits are high following their good win over France last weekend. Austin discusses their strengths and pinpoints where he thinks they'll get the better of Scotland.

A few of the guys later head into a recording studio to record.. well, something, which makes for rather embarrassing viewing at times, but it's all good fun as Ben Foden gets behind the player cam and Nick Easter shows off his singing voice, and darts prowess.

If you watch till the end, you'll see an enjoyable interview with Shontayne 'Huppy' and Matt Banahan as they answer some questions from Twitter followers, as well as show Abi a few things around the rugby field.

It should be a good match this weekend, as will Wales vs Ireland and Italy vs France, so feel free to leave your thoughts and predictions below in the form of a comment.

  • Although most of the actual content of these 02 inside line clips are pretty poor in quality, they are a fun and refreshingly different style of reporting to the processed, dull and generic 10 minute BBC interviews. Cheers for the post!

  • seems to have good vibes in this english team, last results speaks for them!

but they should be careful to not fall in self-confidence and arrogance. Personnally you, mr ashton

    pathetic..

  • why dosent rugbydump give any other 6 nations team the same amount of coverage that the england team gets? it feels unfair!

  • Anonymous 4, I'm english and I agree with you, however thinks its more that the other nation's sponsors don't produce the same kind of thing. To be fair Scotland, Wales and Ireland have scrum V on the BBC and England don't.

Anon 3 I read that article too, bit cringe worthy, feels like the media getting someone who might not be the sharpest to say silly things, someone should be advising him to stay out of all the papers and just concentrate on rugby a bit more.

  • This show is awesome. I'm Scottish and would be up for us producing something like this.

  • Spot on. If any of the other countries did some quality stuff like this and got in touch and we agreed to it, the same type of things would be shown.

I figure an interview with a top pro player is better than no interview at all, regardless of where they're from.

The feedback has been decent enough up until now anyway, so it's probably worth sharing the segment.

  • I think these clips are awesome - really have an authentic behind-the-scenes feel. Great idea having the gobby git Healey in there leading the banter!

To the anonymous whinger moaning about the other countries not getting the similar coverage:
    1) If you're Welsh or Scottish give me some money towards my TV licence that funds Scrum V.

    2) This content is not just conjured up out of thin air.

If you're Scottish, drop a line to Ian McLauchlan and David Murray and ask them to sort something similar.

If you're Welsh, try the marketing department of Brains and Roger Lewis of the WRU.

    You get the general idea.

And to the other poster whingeing about Chris Ashton, I won't click on the link out of general principle so can't comment on the specific detail, but suffice to say don't believe anything you read in the Daily Mail.

  • These vids are good fun, don't know why anyone would complain about them being posted. If you don't want to watch it, don't watch it. And especially don't watch it and then take the time to leave a post about how you don't like it!

  • Not watching because of Healy... Fuck off wanker

  • Good show!

However, what's all this about Scrum V being Scottish??
It's a Welsh rugby show. They do not cover Scottish rugby.

STV does/did a very low budget weekly show with Andy Nicol hosting (yes, it was fairly dire).

  • Of course it's down to what the sponsers do and what's available. Thanks for posting RD, know that whenever anyone actually gets off their arse to do something, someone sitting on theirs will have a go at it. Unfortunate fact of life I guess.

All that said, it seems that England are blowing their own trumpets a little too early, France was the only worthy test so far and it could have gone either way.

Come on the Scots...from Ireland! ;)
