Random tries from 2008

The past year has seen many great moments on the rugby field. From the North to the South, we've witnessed some awesome tries in all competitions around the world.

We've got a video for you today that features some of those classic tries from 2008, many of which you will have seen, but will bring back great memories I'm sure.

IRB Player of the Year Shane Williams features strongly, naturally, with his two scorchers against the Boks midyear.

There's also tries from Matt Banahan, Gareth Thomas, Ricky Januarie, Brian O'Driscoll, and Yves Donguy, to name a few.

Sit back and enjoy this look back on the last year. If 2008 was anything to go by, 2009 will surely produce plenty more of the good stuff for the rugby lover out there.

Awesome video, great tunes, love the Kings. Chavhanga and Williams were my faves, incredible acceleration from both.

All clips are from TV, you don't think ppl on YT actually goto the games and grab the footage themselves do you? ;)

The Super Tries show was 30mins long with some dubious inclusions (the England tries against the Pac Islanders for one) and with some ropey music (plus it was split into segments).

Forget what the olds say, two awesome tracks by two GREAT bands. They work perfectly with rugby too, if people want just plain tries, they need to order some DVD's or watch a regular highlights show.

I listen to music to get pumped before games and when I watch clips of awesome tries with awesome music, it makes the little hairs on my neck stand on end.

Maybe you should up some clips of lineouts set to some Burt Bacharach or Lionel Richie to stop the old timers moaning.
