A collection of Irish tries from over the years
The RBS Six nations 2009 kicks off this weekend as we see England play Italy, Scotland take on champions Wales, and Ireland host France.
We came across this nice collection of Irish tries from over the years that we thought would be a nice way to get you in the mood for what is probably the biggest clash of the weekend.
Dublin will be the venue as the hosts look to end their run of seven straight defeats to the French, following on from their disappointing fourth place finish in 2008 which saw the end of coach Eddie O’Sullivan.
Now, under Declan Kidney, they’re hoping for a turnaround.
Former Ireland captain Keith Wood believes Ireland's Six Nations title ambitions hinge on Saturday's opening match.
"It's all about momentum and we have the hardest game first, against France," he said. "If we lose it we have no momentum. If we win it then we're in a very good place.
"I had no expectations for Ireland up until three weeks ago, but they do have a chance. They have a settled look about them."
Time will tell if Ireland can produce the type of tries we see in this video. But regardless of the result, the match should be a humdinger as the home crowd will be out in full force, both in the streets of Dublin, and at Croke Park.

Good video but that music just sucked.
O Driscoll really is one of the greatest ever. What a step!!!
I'd say if Ireland win tomorrow theyll get the slam.
With Kearney at Full-back they can do anyything that guys is just ridiculous.
Any chance of getting a video of some of Kearneys runs, kicks, catches and tries rugbydump????
cos this guy has gotta be the best full back in the world at the moment.

with refrence to anonymous's comment bout kearney - surely lee byrne has to be a challenger for 'best fullback in th world' title?
By Anonymous, at February 07, 2009 1:29 am
not the same level of excitement provided by the recent France collection you posted
thanks RD

Kearney is a beast!!!
But I agree with the anonymous that lee byrne is a god damned magician at full back. Kearney is too young to be called 'the best in the world'. But he, Fitzgerald, and Keith Earls bring a new level of excitement and hope for Irish rugby.
What the shit is the music? Bob Dylan or something? Mr. Twilight? What??? Almost sounds like the talking heads. Anyways...not the best. I still appreciate the clip, RD. Thanks for posting.

Negative music critics - nobody wants to hear it.
Make your own vid with 'perfect' music, and we'll see how popular that is.
Bite your tongue and show some respect to a person who took time and effort to make a good vid.
My two cents.

Good collection but best irish try (B4 recent 6 nations) not in it unfortunately: dempsey in 2003 (?) against England in 'Twickers'. 15 man try, accross the pitch, England world champions....perfection.
Esp the long pass in the middle of the pitch by BOD.
