Nikki Walker's face meets Filo Tiatia's head
Ospreys and Glasgow played out an uninspiring draw in the Magners League on Friday. The match ended 9-9 with not too much to write home about, except perhaps for this sickening blow between two team mates from the Welsh region.
Filo Tiatia and Nikki Walker collided horribly in the first half as they both went in to make the tackle. Walker took the full brunt of it, as Tiatia flew into him head first.
Walker actually got the Ospreys stalwart’s forehead and shoulder smashing into him, so it’s no wonder he lay on the ground in la-la land for some time afterwards.
Former All Black Tiatia stayed on and looked a little shaken only, but Walker had to leave the field after being attended to.
"At first we suspected a fractured cheekbone. Thankfully it wasn't that bad but he needed six stitches," said an Ospreys spokesman.
Despite the injury, Walker will join up with the Scotland squad on Monday and resume training ahead of their internationals. They play against Fiji at Murrayfield on Saturday.
Please Note: Currie Cup highlights on the way, as well as other rugby action from the weekend. If you'd like to see something specific, please post it in the requests section.

Haha, I noticed the links at the bottom to other head clashes has grown. I was thinking earlier, "there's got to be more than just a couple head-on collision clips"...turns out there are. The one that came to mind first, though, might not even be on the site by itself - the Brian O'Driscoll head-butt-tackle in the 3rd test match of this year's Lions tour.
Anyways, they're never pleasant to see...I wonder just how many brain cells get offed just from that single knock. Ouch...just thinking of it makes me cringe.

@ otto - yeah, I updated some vids that were down, then threw up the links. That BOD headclash can be found in the match highlights, as you said.

Tiatia has a concrete skull and a face made of leather.
Gotta feel bad for nikki but it could of been worse and taken him out of the scotland games.

Don't know whats worse, the head clash or those horrible shiny black and gold jerseys. Don't worry, they'll change it again next year as they always do.
