Super 14 Pick of the Week - Round 12

So much for Friday's being chilled. I've been grafting hard to try get this video out before kickoff in the all important Super 14 clash between the Bulls and the Crusaders at Loftus. So here it is, better late than never, the Rugbydump weekly summary of the best tries in the Super 14.

Once again, plenty of great action with a high standard and a few standouts that are well worth checking out, and sharing with your mates if you enjoyed them.

The Reds, despite looking so promising for the majority of the tournament, seem to be coming unstuck at the crucial time, as they went down to the Brumbies, thanks in part to two tries for prop Ben Alexander.

For the Cheetahs it was a great day out as they beat the Blues, with captain Juan Smith showing us that he has a bit of a step on him after all. Replacement lock Waltie Vermeulen also crossed for what was a great chase and an outstanding pick up at speed.

Tim Nanai Williams for the Chiefs scored a great individual effort as he cut the line with two excellent steps, but it was the foul-mouthed Ma'a Nonu who showed his class - on the field - with two great tries that he made look easy. Defenders seem to under-estimate his deceptive speed, step, and power as he breaks through tackles and crosses the advantage line regularly.

The Bulls, who are sitting pretty at the top of the table, made light work of the struggling Sharks. One of their best tries was finished off by Jacques Louis Potgieter, and then we sore Fourie Du Preez put in a pin-point cross kick for a try that was eventually scored by Gerhard Van Den Heever.

The story of the weekend was the Stormers though, and the way in which they tore apart a more than capable Crusaders side, the most successful Super Rugby team of all time. Jaque Fourie was on fire once again as he scored two cracking tries.

I think that about covers it. Kickoff in two minutes. Have a great weekend and make sure you tune in to whatever you can. If you spot something you'd like shared with the world on Rugbydump, make a note of the time and drop us a mail or post it in the requests section.
