Friday Funnies - The Tony Buckley player toss
So as things go, the Biarritz vs Munster Heineken Cup Semi Final was quite an eventful match, as we've already seen a few great clips from it here this week. There's still one more that I know a lot of you were really keen to see again.
With about twenty minutes left in the match, Munster coach Tony McGahan brought power front rower Tony Buckley on as a replacement for John Hayes, in an effort to solidify the scrumming effort.
It proved fruitless as Biarritz came out on top anyway, but what it did provide was a rather comical, and somewhat impressive, moment from the Irish powerhouse prop.
In an attempt to give his scrumhalf clean ball to clear, he lifted Biarritz second centre Arnaud Mignardi and simply tossed him aside, with what looked like very little effort on his part.
Mignardi is under 6ft and only weighs about 84 kg's, with Buckley being a monster at over 130 kg's and 6ft 5 in height, so in some ways it wasn't really a fair contest. It was helluva funny to see the ease with which the big guy did it though.

ahaha Mignardi looked so surprised afterwards with his mouthguard half out. Just had that "did that just happen?" look on his face.

Could we have the incident including - again - M. Flannery ?
By Pims, at May 08, 2010 1:08 am
lol funny to watch but mignardi didn't block the ball.
in term of frustration, flannery trip on hunt is quite cynical. A recidivist who will again say that he is dumb and stupid
god bless erc:)

That's not a deterrent to lying on the wrong side of the ball. THIS is a deterrent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5sEVm_b9Nk&feature=related

Wow what a surprise.
Typical Munster, might be funny to laugh at but he might have injured the player when he was not blocking the ball.
Munster think they can write their own laws, thank God they are out, they are boring as well :)

....what a valuable insight into the world of John F...
By Anonymous, at May 08, 2010 9:15 pm
Typical John F. Takes a funny moment and tries to ruin it for everybody because he's a bitter old lemon.
By Kearney for tests, at May 08, 2010 9:30 pm
Wow, Munster sure are boring John F. And please tell me what Biarritz are then? Without their back 3, who they didn't use at all or Imanol they'd be alot of fun to watch!!! Munster did all the running, scored a brilliant try and played some exciting rugby this season (Perpignan away, Northampton in 1/4). In the past, yes, that holds up, but not for a couple of years.
If Buckley spent his time learning how to scrum and not throwing small centres around and flicking offloads all the time I'd be delighted.

dont know why he doesn't start for munster and ireland, ok so he cant scrummage particularly well but then neither can hayes or any other irish tighthead and at least buckley contributes a lot around the park unlike any of the others
By David, at May 09, 2010 1:36 pm
steyns dropgoal and allround play against clermont was unbleievable
By Anonymous, at May 09, 2010 4:37 pm
